My partner had a bad eye ulcer and did not have coverage and was definitely anxious about costs and getting seen- not only was AFC affordable, but all staff were kind and communicated wonderfully! Our nurse Karime was so kind and made us feel comfortable while we waited to be seen (she even turned the lights off so my partner wouldn’t strain his eyes!) 10/10 experience, fast service, easy process, and kind workers!
I had been sick for a few weeks, I was able to book an appointment at a convenient time for me and Angie greeted me with warmth and care, while I waited and filled my paperwork out, the room was quiet and comfortable. When Audre brought me back she was a great listener who asked great questions to prepare the NP to examine and diagnose me. The visit was quick and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful experience during an especially stressful time!
I am astonished by the level of incompetence of your team. I am 18 weeks pregnant and came down with a bad case of norovirus early Tuesday morning. I told the PA that I had lost 10 pounds since I last weighed myself a few days prior, had vomited 30-40 times over 6 hours, and had liquid diarrhea every 15-20 minutes. She told me "that isn't enough for you to be dehydrated or need IV fluids." That is the most insane thing I've ever heard. I am an ER veterinarian, and if a patient had that kind of fluid loss I would not only be starting IV fluids right away but would also at LEAST run electrolytes and a PCV/TS. I had to ASK for IV fluids, and your PA kept telling me they weren't needed but could be "done as a precaution." She did nothing to assess dehydration objectively (even though a 10 pound weight loss is a VERY objective parameter of dehydration) - not a physical exam, not checking a simple USG - nothing. So the assistant comes in to place my catheter. She missed the vein the first time, not a huge deal, but then when she got it in she wasn't prepared to tape it in at all. She didn't secure the tegaderm well and she had no T port or anything to hook me up to, so I just dripped blood all over my forearm while she said "oh hold on let me go get a flush" and left the room. She comes back with a 12cc syringe and hooks it up to the catheter, telling me I can't move my arm. Meanwhile my whole body is heating up and stomach is rumbling, and I told her I needed a toilet. Instead of securing the IV in place she walked into the bathroom with me and insisted on holding the catheter in place while I had was on the toilet in front of her. Then ANOTHER assistant comes in with the IV pole to hook up the fluids, so now I have two women watching me on the toilet - this was so embarrassing and easily avoidable had your team been prepared. They finally hook me up to fluids, and check on me every now and then, every time saying "well the fluids aren't going in very quickly so you must not be very dehydrated." MULTIPLE people said this to me. I cannot even tell you how infuriating this was to hear - 1) because this makes it seem like they think I was being dramatic in asking for fluids in the first place, and 2) because hydration status has NOTHING to do with how quickly fluids flow! And very clearly do not understand that there is a difference between intravascular, intracellular and interstitial dehydration. Also of note, I did not urinate for FIFTEEN HOURS, and even when I did it was a very small amount. But don't worry, according to this team I "wasn't dehydrated." Once I felt ok enough to sit up, I asked them to raise the fluid pole because the line clearly wasn't flowing well, and guess what? All of a sudden the fluids soaked right up - because the flow of the fluids was entirely gravity dependent, not anything to do with my hydration status. Your team was so flippant and nonchalant about a pregnant woman having such severe fluid losses and the level of care I received was abysmal. The dogs and cats we see in our ER every day receive far better care. You should be ashamed. I would also like to note that I left this same review privately in a text message, and after receiving no follow up or response from management, I decided to make it public. Do not go here.
Y'all already know Vivi is amazing 🥰 I came in today with some pretty gnarly back issues, I was pretty stressed out. Within 2 to 3 minutes of me arriving Vivi had me laughing and relaxed, which made me feel better. This particular location has the nicest staff who is very caring and considerate to your needs. Definitely would recommend.
My husband and I went in to a different AFC location in Aurora and it was PACKED!!! I know my husband doesn't like crowded areas or long wait time, so the front desk there recommended us to this location and I kid you not, best decision we made, it was in and out. Both Estefany and Vianey were so helpful, friendly and they're also bilingual 😀 they got us checked in and seen in 20 mins tops. The physician came in and she'd answered all of our questions and also put us at ease with our concerns. We usually wait a while for our meds but we got to the pharmacy it was ready for us. We'll be coming back to this location for sure for our urgent care needs because of both Estefany and Vianey are so welcoming and overall experience. Thank you guys!
