It's been just over a year since my daughter's wedding, and I never did write the review I'd meant to submit. Not because of fear of the threats of a lawsuit that the company threw at me when I complained and tried to get some of my money back, but because the wedding was over, we made it through (by scrounging up our own 25 8' tables and not using the ones I'd ordered), and I didn't want to think about it anymore. The chairs were in nice condition (thankfully), but the tables were in horrible condition...pitted, some bowed, metal edging coming apart and sticking out at the seams. There was no way linens could hide that mess. Amerevent told me that I hadn't ordered Premium Tables, that I'd agreed in my contract to covering the tables with pads and fixing problems with duct tape, and also that they had four hours after the start of my event to make things right. That four hour bit was in the fine print of the contract, and I signed it, because I couldn't imagine being treated so badly by a vendor. I was never told by the guys who took my order that there were different grades of tables (premium vs flea market), and he knew I was ordering for a wedding banquet. Mitch was a great sales guy who worked with me to get my order just "right". He certainly had opportunity to tell me I might not be getting what was pictured online and what I might expect instead. He seemed like a nice guy, and I hope he's found a better job by now. Thankfully, I had ordered everything to come on Wednesday for our Saturday wedding. We wanted to use some of the tables and chairs for another, earlier event. This gave us time to come up with what we needed on our own for the wedding. But we were scrambling for the earlier event. When my husband first saw the contract, which is pages long, he told me to not have anything to do with a company that has a contract like that. He's a realist, and I'm an optimist. I laughed and said, "It will be fine. The prices are great." Sadly, I didn't read any of the 1-star reviews before I used the company. If you read them, you will see the common thread of shoddy merchandise followed by bullying and threats and references to all sorts of things which may or may not be in that over-reaching contract. If you have a problem with your merchandise, you can expect this same treatment. There's more to the story, and I have countless emails to prove it, but I'm just going to stop here. Use this company if you can risk a ton of extra stress the day of your event, coupled with intense bullying, name-calling, and intimidation if something goes wrong and you need help with your order. If that that's not you, stick with any of the other reputable party rental places in St. Louis. Update in response to Amerevent response: I am Tori, not Terri, so perhaps you are confusing me with another customer. I ordered my tables and chairs way in advance to get the early-bird discount on the Chiavari chairs I was never told there was a "flea market" versus "premium" option. Who would knowingly choose a flea market table for wedding guests? I was not told to come to the warehouse. And I definitely did not get a refund. All of this would suggest that you have the wrong customer, except that I now see I have already received, within just a few hours of posting this review, an email threatening to sue me because I have violated all sorts of non-disclosure requirements in my Google contract. I am not taking this review down. Second Update: Amerevent has changed their response to me several times, changing their attacks and belittling my character. I can't understand this way of doing business. This is not about the bit of money I spent on the tables I couldn't use, it is about how paying customers ($3600 for me) are treated. I am still amazed that I never heard, "Thank you for your business," or "We're sorry that we delivered merchandise you couldn't use. How can we make it right?" I am protected by the Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016 and am keeping screenshots of everything published about me, emails too. Buyer, beware.
This is a one-star review, so get ready for the company’s response to be either denial that I was a customer, aggressively defensive, or both. Negative reviews don’t usually stay up too long because Amerevent’s contract states you cannot leave a negative review. Ask yourself what kind of company does that. Our experience with this company was horrible. The tents were torn and dirty, the tables were filthy and beat up - some even had drill holes in them. The crew was late to set up and didn’t return to break everything down until the next day when all was supposed to be gone that evening. One of the tents collapsed toward the end of our event. The first negative review we posted was met with repeated vicious and threatening emails to both me and the corporation sponsoring the event. The corporation didn’t want any trouble so agreed to take the review down. I am no longer affiliated with that corporation, so it’s time to deliver the truth. Steer clear.
Amerevent was super accommodating , making sure I had all my questions answered. Everything went smooth. We rented a tent package for my daughter's birthday party and booked online. Delivery was the day before and pickup went off with ease. I highly recommend to everyone!
I've read some of the negative reviews here and can't help but think they are fake. Our business has done parking lot sales using Amerevent's tents for about 10 years now. We have never had any issues with professionalism, quality or price. We have faced paid negative fake reviewers our competitors have used to try to used to try to beat us down. Just go in and look at your equipment before you rent if you have any doubts. That will solve any concerns. We really have none.
These guys were amazing. I called on Friday after viewing the weather report for a party I had scheduled for Sunday. These guys came the next morning and voila everything was it was set up and looked awesome. Plus, the price was lower than 2 others and they wouldn’t even come out because of the short notice. By Monday the tent was gone: no questions, no hassles. I would certainly recommend and use again. Great job guys!
