Made an appointment at 5:30p. Arrived at 5:15p. Checked the online waitlist and the 4:50p person still hadn’t been seen. Finally saw a provider at 8:15p (there was only one provider working). Everyone was nice but good lord. When you’re running a fever the last thing you want to do is sit in a dr office for 3 hours especially when you had an appointment.
My Visit was horrible, I went in for pain in my shoulder and the doctor totally did not listen to me as to why I was there, she kept replying and asking me was I in a traumatic situation and I stated no to every question pertaining a traumatic event, then her questions turned to insults like not moving around a lot and I wasn’t old enough for this kind of injury and pain, I tried explaining I work 12 hours in a car production plant and the type of work I perform may cause this type of pain, she still didn’t understand so she walked out and the nurse came back in with 2 shot and 4 different kinds of pain medication, I’m disappointed and dissatisfied in the care I received there. The nurse that I seen before the doctor was very nice and professional, she cared and understood every single thing I told her before seeing the doctor, zero stars in my book, I work hard and have good insurance and I can pay whatever co- pay when receiving care, i will be finding a primary care doctor from now on No More American Family Care for me
Excellent service. Front desk thoroughly explained insurance copay even giving me a copy of the breakdown. The nurse and nurse practitioner on duty were very pleasant. They treated my daughter quickly and effectively. I truly trust the service at American family Care Trussville.
I have a complaint against the NP at the Chalkville Mountain Branch in Trussville, AL for the very unprofessional service I received when I visited at 8 am 1-4-2026. When the NP came into the room at 9:40, I explained I have had nausea and vomiting for 24 hours. She proceeded to tell me, "Well, your covid and flu test were negative." I informed her I had not had a covid or flu test, and she left the room. She returned several minutes later, and I explained again I did not have covid or flu symptoms. I had nausea and vomiting for 24 hours, much like previous stomach viruses I had had. I at that time requested Phenergan for nausea. She rudely replied, "We don't have Phenergan here." I replied, "Well, whatever is similar for nausea." At no point did I ask for an injection. I did not suppose they had a pharmacy there, but I know perfectly well they have phenergan at the pharmacy where I have since purchased some. She offered no substitute for it. She had almost an air of disbelief of what I was saying, and I do not understand why. I didn't know any other way to explain nausea and vomiting. Then, she accused me of having some attitude, which from her previous behavior and snappiness is probably true, (and 24 hours of vomiting) because I found it disturbing to be given results of tests I had not taken and a blatant lie about phenergan. But she very obviously also had an attitude the moment she walked in the door, including giving me results from tests I had not even had and never even apologizing. Both our tempers seemed high at that point, and I just left requesting a refund of the $180. Upon leaving, I received a text discharge summary that I would like to have changed. It states "Patient left before being seen." That is another total untruth. I was seen, but for some reason, the NP did not seem willing to treat me correctly or if at all with meds for vomiting. Therefore, I would like my medical record to reflect the truth of AFC apparently could not fill a simple request of a patient for a commonly-prescribed anti-nausea medication. Can you please let me know if the medical record can be changed to reflect what truly happened, as I was very definitely seen, and my boyfriend was in the room to witness every word of it. I do not wish to have an erroneous document in my medical record.
I got my visit quickly and had a very nice lady. Nurse Practitioner. She listened intently and was very understanding. She wanted to do more but was limited on what she could prescribe. In the end, she gave me what was needed and the treatment has been great so far. I thanked her for her kindness and her professionalism. If I am ever in need again, I hope to see her.
