Paid $50 NOT to be tattooed This is an HONEST review about my experience. I wanted to get something small on my wrist--moon and stars. Their voicemail was full so I went online to book. It's $50 for tattoos. There was no deposit required for piercings. Also, when I was booking, there were no options to select a particular artist, just the piercer or "next available" for the artist. I selected next available considering that was my only option for a tattoo and uploaded photos. When we arrived (my husband and I), I was greeted at the desk by someone who did not introduce themselves. She asked if I had an appointment and I told her yes. She then said she could not find it. I told her I booked online and she had me take a seat. My husband and I were sat on a sofa with another woman sitting on an adjacent sofa and the greeter who remained at the desk this entire interaction. The greeter then turns in her chair and begins speaking to me about my tattoo, which I found odd because I am still thinking she is a receptionist. All the while this other person is sitting quietly between us, so we are essentially having this conversation with someone physically in the middle of us. Finally, I said something about discussing this with the artist who will be tattooing me and she tells me that she is the artist! The one who will be tattooing me! I still do not even know her name because she hasn't offered it. From there, things get more awkward and uncomfortable. She is not only pressuring me to fill out the consent form, but she is critical of my sketches even as I ask for help and input. Finally, I point to the table and say "which portfolio is yours?" And as I am flipping through her portfolio (examining her execution of circles and straight lines) she is still pressuring me to sign a consent form. This consent form states that I have discussed allergies, and medications, etc with my artist--which I have not. It also asks for my passport information which I do not feel comfortable with giving considering we haven't even discussed prices. I told her I would not sign the form because that would be dishonest of me, stating we've had certain discussions, when we have not. Even the woman in the middle talks to her, as if to clarify on my behalf. Ledga is confused by this. And it is at this moment that she takes the time to ask what should be one of the first questions any artist asks their patron: "have you gotten a tattoo before?" I look up from her portfolio and tell her, "yes." She seems a little humbled by this, especially when I try to explain my past experiences of consultations, and maybe, maybe, she genuinely does not know what those are. Keep in mind, she never leaves her seat but leans forward and tries tactics such as "you paid for an appointment" and "I don't understand" and "you tell me what you want." Her tone is very direct and blunt. And she begins having a conversation with the second woman in another language... I shake my head at my husband, close her book, and tell her I am sorry to have wasted her time and that she can keep the $50, even though it's non-refundable, and we leave. I am so hurt and angry and my husband went back up to speak to her and try to diffuse the situation. He tells me she was apologetic and willing to extend the deadline of my deposit and that she tells him they get walk-ins all the time, that I booked with their piercer, and that she tattoos all the time and can do it. And I think that that is the underlining issue. I was dealing with an artist who does tattoos so much, she has forgotten how special they can be for some people. People like me who love tattoos and take them seriously. I also need good bedside manner, like anyone would if they were visiting a doctor, hairstylist, etc. Ledga was very impatient, curt and condescending and I did not want that energy translated into a tattoo where every time I look at it, I would be reminded of this interaction. I will not be returning. I also had written a longer review with more detail but it was too lengthy for this app.
Great location near Time Square. Very clean and friendly staff. Ledja is an amazing arist. I love my Pink Lilly that says New York underneath.
Have been coming to this shop for three years now. Never disappointed once. The skill and talent these artists have is incredible. Almost my entire body has done by Sabrina. There is nothing these artists can not do!! Decently priced for the city as well!!! Clean and comfortable inside. Love this shop!!!
I just got my first tattoo here and 10/10 would recommend. Ledja was the best!!! The service was amazing and the final result is even more amazing. I love my butterfly!!😙
My nephew and I started our New York overnight with matching guitar and NYC skyline tattoos. Damian did his and Felipe did mine. Both guys were kind and meticulous. I was done first and asked the owner Ledja about an old and faded eagle tattoo which she ended up fixing for me and it also came out great. We had such a positive experience at this place. Friendly service, great work, reasonable prices!!
