Love this school. If you are serious about music and want your child to be both challenged and supported in their musical education and training, this is the place for you. Our son has been going for 10 years. I grew up playing piano, and after 3 lessons, I had no idea what he was doing when he sat down to practice — it was nothing like the way I learned when I was young. I walked into his fourth lesson and told Erika I had no idea how to help when when he practiced (they do not teach in traditional American methods). She very kindly explained the approaches the school uses. After that, we were good to go. I love the way they challenge the kids, and the excitement they show when they have successful completed a challenging piece is well worth the effort. Every year, approximately 20 students are now selected to play at Carnegie Hall — the true chance of a lifetime! I give this school my highest recommendation. We recently moved towns and we will be keeping our child in the school, because I think so highly of it.

Our daughter started piano lesson in June 2023. Within a few months she was able to play Bach, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. She also started playing songs that she can sing along to. She was able to get into a selective school thanks to her academia and piano. The school also offers choir and composition classes.

I would like to sincerely thank teachers Ekaterina and Gleb for their invaluable knowledge and their commitment to excellence in everything they do. My 7 y.o. daughter has been studying for a little over 9 months and during this period she already has her own repertoire of 5 small pieces and the experience of performing in front of an audience of 100 people. The teachers are not only incredibly talented musicians and teachers, but also very sensitive and caring mentors. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to study music.

We like the school since the teachers have really high goals. My daughter had have a hard time to adjust in the beginning, right after she had been with a young girl who praised her all the time from another school. But she wasn't learning as much as at Blüthner. We do not see having goals and working towards them as a problem. The teachers are fair and professional. So no complaining at all from our experience.

My son started lessons with Katya at Blüthner School of Music at the start of the year. 14 classes later he performed at his very first recital in a room with roughly 100 adults. It was a moment of pride for my husband & me, but more importantly it was a HUGE confidence boost for our son. He understood why consistency & practice matters - whether with his teacher once a week or daily at home as follow ups to what he had learned in class; he learned that at the age of 5.5 yrs he could perform in front of an audience; and thru all the other children who performed that day he saw what his future with the piano could look like if he continued :) Katya, in my opinion, provides the right balance between tough love & encouragement/applaud. Music is beautiful - but learning it is a long and sometimes hard/repetitive process - and the teachers at Blüthner know how to cultivate long time students. I am glad to have the school in our town - and hopeful to see my son at Carnegie Hall some day :)
