I am so grateful for the care that I have received from Dr. Schweig and the team at CCFM for the rare autoimmune disease I was diagnosed with two years ago. Dr. Schweig's expertise from many years of experience, along with his compassionate treatment approach, are very much appreciated. I received comprehensive thorough care from the start that has directly impacted the quality of my life. My pain levels decreased significantly as a result of the alternative treatments he recommended. We uncovered several underlying issues, and one by one, have been treating all of these potential causal and very much functional health concerns. I highly recommend CCFM if you want a holistic approach to your health care needs!

I became a CCFM patient about 2 years ago given unexplained chronic symptoms which can not be diagnosed and addressed by conventional medicine. After onboarding, I went through a lot of tests over the next few months to check abnormalities in GI, autoimmune, hormone, metabolism, mold and mycotoxins exposure. The test uncovered major issues such as gluten sensitivity, mold and mycotoxin burden. Tracey O’Shea, who has been my care provider in CCFM since onboarding, explained to me all the test results and discussed next steps and answered any questions I have at each video appointment, and wrote me detailed encounter history from the appointment and instructions to follow post each visit. The treatment plan is an holistic approach which includes adding supplements to address root cause of the issue, diet and life style change. The treatment requires dedication and discipline, but the result is definitely rewarding. I started to see subtle improvements in my energy level and my symptoms are becoming less and less noticeable over time. I have been with CCFM for almost 2 years now. The partnership with my care team is getting stronger over time. I truly appreciated the thoughtful care and support from my care team in CCFM who showed me there is a way to be healed from the chronic illness and to live a healthier life. I also gained valuable knowledge about nutrition and its connection to our body. I think joining CCFM’s patient program is one of the best decisions and investments I made for myself. The positive and sustainable results I see on myself is motivating and rewarding. Although there are still issues to be addressed, I am generally feeling better, and thinking more positive these days. CCFM, thanks for everything.

I came to CCFM after a two year journey with my internist and an integrative doctor (along with a lot deep diving on my own.) CCFM welcomed me with a smile and made me feel like I could breath. They analyzed all my previous tests and blood work. They listened to me and didn't put all my symptoms on the back burner. Best of all, they made sure I felt heard. I would say the word that describes my experience thus far is SUPPORT. Every month (if not more), I am communicating with someone on my health team and any question is only a message away. I look forward to the positive changes I see in my health as I continue working with CCFM.

Several years ago, my wife and I began working with what would eventually become the California Center for Functional Medicine (CCFM), starting just before their official launch in 2014. As part of the onboarding process, we were instructed to complete a series of labs and diagnostic tests locally, which cost us approximately $2,000 out of pocket. We were scheduled to review those results and begin a treatment plan. However, shortly before our first telehealth appointment, a staff member rescheduled us for a later date. Unfortunately, the clinician was not informed of this change, and we were marked as no-shows for the original appointment. Despite clear evidence of the scheduling error on their end, we were charged nearly $1,000 for the missed visit. CCFM refused to move forward with our care until the no-show fee was paid — which we declined, given that the mistake was not ours. As a result, we never received the care we were promised, and the significant investment in pre-appointment testing ultimately went to waste. This experience reflects a disappointing lack of communication, accountability, and compassion. We were left with no support, no refund, and no resolution — just a costly and frustrating experience during a time when help was genuinely needed.

I love working with Megan from CCFM. As a retired healthcare provider it is wonderful to work with someone who is so bright, competent, and compassionate. I don't have complicated health issues but my husband and daughter do. CCFM has been a life saver for them. I have found their system daunting at times but well worth it. It has allowed us to have top quality, holistic, health care in very rural settings.
