The Canberra Museum & Gallery is a fantastic spot to learn about the history of the city. The exhibits give a clear timeline of how Canberra became the capital of Australia, which really helps you understand the city's unique story. A highlight for me was the section dedicated to Enrico Taglietti, the Italian architect. You can see models of his buildings around the city and learn the stories behind them. Upstairs, there’s a collection of works by Sidney Nolan that’s definitely worth checking out, especially if you're into Australian art. One of the more surprising exhibits is the Outer Space display, which takes you through space exploration, all based around the Mount Stromlo Observatory. It’s both fun and informative, and there’s even a cool arcade game at the end—like a little bonus after the exhibit!

Walked into this museum/gallery by chance. Really fabulous. Small, a bit of history, interesting exhibits about Canberra events like the terrible bushfire. The Nolan gallery was a real highlight. I would have liked to see more of the ballet designs. The cafe was a bit disappointing.

Excellent small museum/gallery showcasing mainly collections relating to Canberra. We saw the Enrico Taglietti exhibition in July. Fascinating insight into part of Canberra’s architectural history.

Like almost every place I've visited in Canberra, this place didn't disappoint. And like every other place, totally wheelchair friendly. A fabulous outing with the little ones to share in a dramatics and imaginative storytelling time, followed by a wonderful time of "instrument petting". Five stars for these amazing offerings for the little ones, and what a way to introduce them to the feel and sound of orchestral musical instruments! The other galleries are very intetesting, well laid out, and spacious. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Canberra.
