This is by far the worst Discount Tire location in Austin, and the worst tire service experience I’ve ever had. I came in with a simple issue: a nail in my tire, hoping to see if it could be repaired. From the very beginning, the representative made it clear he wasn’t interested in helping. After a quick glance at my tire, he immediately told me I needed to buy a brand-new one. I’ve owned cars for years and have replaced tires before, so I’m not unfamiliar with how this works. Despite that, the representative proceeded to talk down to me and “explain” how tires and my car work in a very condescending way. He claimed my tread was too low to repair the tire, which I strongly suspected was just an attempt to upsell me on a replacement. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and went to the Discount Tire location I normally use on Ben White. The experience there was completely different. They told me the exact opposite, the tire was repairable. The representative there even ran additional tests to be absolutely sure before fixing it. This location really needs to take notes from the Ben White Discount Tire. Trying to mislead customers into spending more money than necessary is completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this location at all. Save yourself the frustration and go to the Discount Tire on Ben White instead. The team there is genuinely kind, professional, and actually cares about both their work and their customers. They are usually busy but it’s worth the wait to know that you were taking care of, not lied to and know your car is in good hands.

Staff is super friendly which is why I come back everytime I need tires..Unfortunately (not knowing windows would be a part of my tires being changed) an employee forced a window down and it was stuck open. I know it was forced because my power windows haven't worked in almost a full year. As a photographer having my windows up is a big deal for equipment so I had no choice but to find a quick solution which was to pay a random mechanic at auto zone to fix. Like I said staff friendly and even attempted to get the window up but couldn't fix the issue they caused. If your windows arent working properly, be sure to mention it as apparently it is necessary to change tires*

The only thing I dread more than getting maintenance on my truck is actually BUYING a vehicle. But I honestly have to say that getting new tires here was completely painless. In fact, I had an excellent experience! I bought tires online and had them installed the same day. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and knowledgeable and the whole process took less than 30 minutes. I had a hiccup with my TPM sensors, but the manager, Ray, followed up with me immediately and worked to make sure I got sorted out. Honestly, the level of customer service here shocked me! I don't know if my expectations are low or if these folks are just knocking it out of the park. That's not true. They are absolutely knocking it out of the park!

I once again have come here to sing the praises of this location, it truly deserves six stars. It was time again for tires for both of our vehicles and this is the only tire shop I mess with. After such a great experience with my wife's tires, I ordered mine online, for the best price, and scheduled to have them installed on a Friday morning. I was in an out of the place within an hour, it was outstanding service. Jason took really care of me and I will be coming back for any of my tire needs in the future.

Discount tire always takes good care of me. My first time at the Slaughter location was fantastic. I had a tire blow out from a pot hole. Made an appointment for 8am the next morning. Was taken care of right away by Stephen (so awesome and helpful, thank you) who caught that my back tire had also been damaged. Both tires were still under my warranty (always worth it) and they changed out my old windshield wipers at the same time. I was literally in and out in 35 minutes. They are just the best!!! I snapped a picture of this while in the waiting room. Says alot about the company.
