I recently began seeing Dr. Christopher Jackson and have been extremely impressed with the car provided by both him and his medical assistant, Martin! Primarily, I want to say Dr. Jackson is amazingly thorough, ensuring I understand everything that we are covering even down to the why behind medications chosen. He is very attentive, and genuinely listens to your needs/concerns, which is apparent during both the visits as well as the clinical notes following the visits. I am so glad that I chose Dr. Jackson for my care. Secondly, I really want to highlight, Martin, who has already consistently gone above and beyond. He is highly organized, clearly manages his time exceptionally well, is very responsive, and also attentive to your individual needs. While waiting for my second visit, yesterday, to begin, I encountered a moment in which my anxiety was unexpectedly triggered in the general waiting area, and as soon as Martin took me back for intake, he immediately recognized the situation, and ensured I was not moved into the next waiting area, and instead, allowed me to wait privately until Dr. Jackson was ready for my appointment. That thoughtful response by Martin made a meaningful difference not only in my experience there, but ultimately, in my day! It is not often that you find a practice where both the provider and staff demonstrate such professionalism, empathy, and individualized patient-centered care. I highly recommend Dr. Jackson and his team!

If I could give this place 100 stars or five stars per provider I would. I want to start with the front desk and the incredibly helpful assistants: Harley and Nick, truly the front stars of the show. Before even walking through the door, anxiety and fear always seemed to cling to me. But the moment I stepped inside, I was met with friendly, warm, and bubbly faces behind the counter—always ready to help start my therapy or doctor visits with the highest level of care and capability. That alone brought me so much inner peace, and for that, I am deeply thankful. Melanie Dowler was my first therapist here, and she is someone I highly recommend if you’re working through personal challenges or family concerns. She opened a door between me and my family that I truly believe would have remained closed without her guidance. For that, I am incredibly grateful. Dominique Doty became my personal therapist, and without her, I don’t think I would have gotten nearly as far in my healing, self-growth, and building structure in my life. Without her support, the world of chaos would feel like a massive twister or hurricane. For her dedication and care, I am personally and endlessly grateful. Martin Salazar, THE medical assistant, is the first person you see before meeting with your physician. He is an energetic and loving human who brings tenderness, patience, and genuine connection into every interaction. He puts his best foot forward while helping patients transition into a space that can often feel scary or overwhelming but somehow, he makes it feel like sunflowers and hibiscus instead. Chris Patterson, a physician, helped me find the proper mix of legal medications that truly worked with my system. He listened when things felt off or weren’t working as they should, and he consistently showed up with professionalism, compassion, and care. I deeply appreciate him as my physician, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better fit. What I’ve learned is that this entire office is open, warm, and grounding. It’s a stepping stone when you feel lost, scared, or emotionally overwhelmed. I genuinely could not have done this without Family Care Center, and I can proudly say I will always recommend this place to anyone who needs a better environment or a new structure for therapy and psychiatric care. Nothing but positive experiences with family care center stone oak! Every staff member is truly wonderful!! Nate at the front desk, Martin, and of course my Doc, Dr. Jackson are all wonderful and really make me feel heard!! As someone who has anxiety, having a safe space to come to, is a blessing! Thank you to all the staff for keeping positive vibes!!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Every staff member I've had the pleasure of interacting with here has been fantastic. Harley and Martin are both incredibly sociable and professional. Most of all, I would heavily recommend Chris Kinna for any psychiatric needs. I followed him from his previous practice for good reason: he's incredible at what he does. After years of dealing with my personal issues, they began impacting my personal and work life more than ever. However, Chris was able to help me get back on track. He's an insanely empathetic person who expresses genuine excitement in getting you where you want to go while also working with you in the way that you'd like to do it. He's also just a cool guy! I can't express enough how grateful I am for Chris and the rest of the staff here. Big props to everyone involved!

First of all Lea At the front desk of the sunset location (I think it’s Alamo Heights) Is absolutely amazing. I brought my son in for our first appointment to the wrong location We were supposed to be in Stone Oak, And we were already 10 minutes late. She jumped on the phone and got me set up in a room to do the appointment virtually. We filled out all the paperwork there and they did his vitals. She is seriously the nicest most professional person I’ve ever met. The nurse practitioner we saw virtually was also completely amazing, I think his name was Christopher Kenna. Apparently, he just does med management, but I wish He could be my son’s therapist. He was so easy to talk to, my son actually liked him & that’s rare. We haven’t been to talk therapy but I have high hopes that that provider will be equally good.
