I purchased some equipment from Fringe after looking online for funny bumper plates. They had the only product with a clean looking finish and a pretty good reputation, so I tried it. The plates came in perfect and they had a special going making them really cheap. The novelty pizza design feels high quality. I had a very small issue with my order and their customer service hopped on it immediately. It took less than a week start to finish and I'd happily buy again. If the bumpers start to have issues over time, I'll update my review but they feel pretty solid made.
Health/wellness coach & Gym owner of 20 years here expanding to a bigger facility. I was ready to drop 20k+ at Fringe a few weeks ago when we drove an hour in from our small Texas town to their "showroom". This desire dissipated very quickly upon arrival and interaction with the "staff" they had assigned to the weekend shift. I don't know if the young man we spoke to was in high school but his overall lack of customer service and, seeming, utter lack of experience in gym sales was a huge red flag immediately. We asked multiple questions...all of which were met with, "I have to text my sales manager." These were basic questions regarding bulk pricing, availability, etc... I have to say I've done this multiple times before and have never been met with such ignorance to the salesperson's own products. I don't blame the staff as clearly they were not given what was needed to be prepared. This was my initial interaction with them a few weeks ago. I immediately pivoted and decided none of my big equipment purchases would be through them (based on my experience and quite a few recent reviews citing horros stories regarding the delivery/fulfillment process). However, they had around 100 used mats for a good price considering the good condition of, roughly, half of the mats. So, we decided to go ahead and get the mats from them. Two weeks after our initial interaction we drove an hour back to get the mats. We showed up and walked into an empty "showroom". Not too long after we entered the staff member made an appearance. To be clear, I feel bad for this guy. He was the same guy there weeks before and didn't seem any more prepared. We had to wait for him to call a higher up to be able to move a truck to access the mats that were advertised for sale. No problem...but then another customer showed up. This is when I really lost all good feelings for this company. The staff member left us to "look through the mats" while he helped the other customer with the promise of help with loading the horse stall mats into our truck (if you know how heavy/awkward these are you'll understand why that's relevant). After about 30 minutes my wife and I loaded 23 of the mats ourselves and decided that was enough. The staff member made the embarrassing excuse of "well, they bought like everything we have so I had to help them." Oooof, not a good look and, honestly, the main reason for this review. If you're willing to admit you're treating customers differently based on how much they're spending, I will pass on supporting your business. Thankfully, we go the mats we needed and found much more personable, caring equipment providers locally. Funny thing is they lost out on probably a 15-25k order mostly by being unprepared and, in my opinion, half assing their weekend staffing. Disappointing to say the least considering we spent 6k or so with them a few years ago when we opened a different facility.
I’ve had an awesome experience with Fringe Sport. I purchased their belt squat attachment months ago and it’s been fantastic — well-built, smooth, and perfect for my setup on a REP PR-4000 rack. I love their belt squat attachment. More recently, I added their Swan attachment to the belt squat and ran into a couple of small setup issues. Their customer service rep, Pam, went above and beyond to walk me through everything step-by-step until it worked perfectly. It was a simple matter of flipping the bar so the 1” pivot hole was on top instead of the 5/8” hole. Even when I accidentally damaged a magpin (totally my fault for trying to force it into place) during my initial setup, they handled it with real care and generosity. Fringe Sport has earned my trust and repeat business. Great equipment, great people, and truly outstanding support. Even with the best products sometimes things unfortunately go wrong. That’s to be expected. What’s more important is what a company does when something does go wrong. I have found that Fringe steps up and makes sure their customer is happy. I really appreciate that as a customer. They have earned my trust and make me feel valued as a customer.
Great customer service. Fast and free shipping. They run great deals all the time. I have made four orders this year and every product has been great. Best bumper plates in the business. Love my walrus. My wife lives the mammoth belt squat.
There claim of 100% satisfaction is a joke. I purchased the new Walrus Lat / Low Row. After a second no delivery / no communication from the freight company I requested my money back. This was after multiple emails with "sorries / be patient." Eventually the freight company tried to deliver a damage product. See picture. Thought ok now they will refund my money no questions. Nope. I had a file a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. Don't do business with them!
