I went during the day last week and there was no workers in sight. Walked around and said “hello?” And no reply. Sat at the front desk for around 10 minutes until I heard giggling coming from the bathroom. Girl who eventually came to front desk was not very nice and short with me when I told her I had been waiting. Usually have a good experience with the workers but not this day
I’ve been tanning on and off for over 15 years, so I’m very aware of the pros and cons. I come here because I want to tan, both for cosmetic reasons and because I have vitamin D deficiency. What has become extremely frustrating at both of your locations (Lemmon & McKinney) is the constant, fear-based pushing of red-light therapy. Today I was told that I “really need” to be doing red light because the tanning beds are “destroying my collagen and skin” and that I won’t get the results I’m looking for without it. That is an inappropriate way to speak to someone who is actively paying for tanning services. If your own staff believes your tanning beds are that damaging or ineffective, then why are they being sold at all? Should I just cancel and go back to airbrushing myself at home? I understand tanning has risks, I chose to accept those when I signed up. What I did not sign up for is being pressured or shamed by front desk staff using scare tactics to push a different service. If red light is meant to be an optional wellness add-on, that’s fine, but it should be offered without undermining the very service your business exists to provide. This sales approach makes the experience uncomfortable instead of welcoming.
I absolutely love Glo with my whole heart! I have the unlimited package, and glo has exceeded every single one of my expectations. I love the staff, especially Grace. She is wonderful and can answer any of my questions about the different beds and equipment. The girls are always so knowledgeable about what they have to offer. I truly appreciate the kindness and warmth I feel whenever I’m at this salon. Worth the $$ all around, you won’t regret signing up and being here!
**Edited Review Glo is under a new owner from the previous Glo owner. YAY! And they were so nice and handled everything so great. I’m so grateful that this place is making a come back and getting back to how it was. **Old Review Honestly this place is the worst, but it’s the only bed tanning close to me. This location used to be Lux Tanning which was clean, organized and felt like a truly luxurious experience. Glo has the same tanning beds, however the spray tan formula is completely different and my at home tans lasts longer and have less streaks. The only good thing about Glo is the people who work the front desk. They are so kind and patient as their computer system is down 50% of the time and it’s very frustrating and confusing for them and customers. Someone please make this place better or open a real tanning bed spot close by :( I hate going here.
Glow Tanning is truly the best! All of the check-in girls are so sweet and welcoming, but Hannah and Grace always go the extra mile—they know me by name and even know my routine when I walk in, which makes every visit feel personal and effortless. The owner sets such a high standard for the salon, and it really shows. Everything is always spotless and well-maintained, and you can tell the team really knows what they’re doing. My only suggestion would be for corporate to consider adding a referral program—it would be a great way to reward loyal customers. Highly recommend this salon!
