A kid-friendly environment connected to a candy store and antiques shop, ideal for group outings and multi-generational fun.
We had fun! Lots to see and admire. I wish more of the pin ball machines had been working, but they are vintage. Some need a little TLC. Highly recommend.
Super cool place! Tons of fun movie props and things to look at outside of the arcade. It's connected to the candy store so you can find something for everyone while you are there! I love that they have candy and food themed socks, much cheaper than socks found at other stores around town.
My family loves pinball, so this was a blast for teens and adults alike! It seemed very kid-friendly, a variety of ages enjoying the arcade. The pinball arcade and museum is directly connected to the giant candy store, cafe, and vinyl shop. This is the largest collection of ancient pinball machines I’ve ever seen. You can play lots of them for just twenty-five cents. Almost every pinball machine was working great, but we did notice a couple issues and wished there were attendants available we could have notified. There’s just one bathroom, you need a code, and it’s a bit dirty. The facilities in general are fairly clean, but the ceiling is leaking in the arcade and we noticed the hallway with the PEZ art on the floor was oddly stinky— sewage-like. Overall, this is a fun area to explore for hours!
Really awesome nostalgic overload of Candy, Diner, Vinyl and most importantly a massive vintage Pinball Museum! My only complaint is that many of the pinball games were out of service and they don't do a play pass system, it's pay per game. All in all a great place for a vintage throwback or for Pinball Enthusiasts!
Visited on a Friday night close to closing. Was moderately busy with small crowds filtering in and out as they wandered through the connected Hollywood Candy & Antiques complex. The museum is in the back of the building beyond the antiques area and is not to be confused with the other preexisting Hollywood Candy arcade area adjacent to the malt shop. This museum focuses on the older electromechanical reels-and-bells pinball machines from the 1970s and earlier as opposed to the computerized ones more familiar to us now. As a big fan of the 80s/90s era of pinball, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy these somewhat slower-paced games, but their presentation in the museum helped me gain a new appreciation for these classics. I really enjoyed the decor and atmosphere and the games themselves were immaculately restored and surprisingly clean. I had one or two minor problems with machines that were supposed to be in working order (sticky flippers etc) but considering the terrible shape I often see much newer games in I was overall impressed with the playability of these old machines. Games are 50 cents a play, payable in tokens. On the night I visited, about ten or more games were marked out of service, but many more were perfectly playable. Just outside the main pinball area, there is another smaller alcove with a few (mostly 80s vintage) video arcade games and a couple newer solid-state pinball machines. Museum area can get pretty hot with all those machines running, so don't overdress.
