I had an extremely disappointing experience at LifeStance in Austin, TX on April 28, 2026, with provider Modinat Showemimo. I arrived 15 minutes early for my 2:00 PM appointment and was completely ignored at the front desk. When someone finally acknowledged me, they abruptly told me to check in on my phone and put a card on file—no greeting, no professionalism, just attitude. Things didn’t improve from there. The provider’s appearance and office were shockingly unprofessional. She was wearing dirty Crocs, leggings, and what looked like lounge clothes. Her office itself was messy, with toys and glitter everywhere. Even if she sees children, that’s not an excuse for a cluttered and unclean clinical environment. Shortly after starting, I was sent back to the front desk to put a card on file due to a “new policy.” When I asked basic questions, the staff member responded with visible annoyance and even eye-rolling. Completely unacceptable behavior. Nobody wants to deal with a bad attitude when they’re already dealing with mental health issues. The provider didn’t help resolve anything—just asked if I wanted to continue. At that point, I chose to leave. Before leaving, I specifically asked if I would be charged and was told I would not be since no session took place. Despite that, I was charged $100 the next morning. This entire experience was unprofessional from start to finish. Poor communication, rude staff, and misleading billing practices. I would not recommend this location to anyone. They don't even deserve a one star!!! If you want great customer service and providers that actually care I recommend LifeStance in San Marcus!!!
