Bryce Mackel: I first met Bryce Mackel through a phone call to Moon Valley Nurseries to schedule care for our apricot tree. He was very helpful, pleasant, caring, and spoke to me like an old friend, even though he had never talked or met me before. Later, I needed to stop at Moon Valley, so I asked for Bryce. He was so down-to-earth, with compassion, integrity, and patience. You could tell he was very responsible and listened intently to our concerns and needs. He didn’t treat me like just another customer but like an old friend! Bryce is the epitome of customer service. Don’t lose him!!
I don't have enough words to express how wonderful our experience has been, Tommy is an amazing individual with complete knowledge of each tree we chose, or needed to know if it would work for us, our entire experience from, walking in, estimate, choosing trees, set up delivery and planting, absolutely flawless. The planting crew were kind, friendly and happy, they took great pride and care for each tree planted, they definitely love their job, and very good at it. Aaron and Scott were a blessing to work with while planting and keeping everything going smoothly! Everyone we worked with made us feel we mattered and cared about our project and home as much as we do, we will always choose Moon nursery and will highly recommend we have made some new friends and can't wait for them to help us with our next phase of our project!! We are simply amazed with Moon Nursery and their team, from start to finish! We are absolutely, beyond ecstatic they were apart of making or landscaping dreams come true!!
Sorry this is long…. Please please please if you decide to use moon valley nursery off grand- READ all your paperwork, even if it takes you time do it while you are there and Read it ESPECIALLY if you add anything to your order. Last year we got palm trees, we opted to warranty the big one, well we forgot to get a small pigmy palm so they redid the paperwork with the new tree on it. A year later our big palm was dying so I called to verify the warranty and they were like you don’t have a warranty 😳🧐🤨. What!?!?!? I said this is who we spoke to this is what we discussed. That persons no longer here so we will let you buy the warranty (sigh because we had it budgeted prior and the warranty was a large sum because the size of the tree). We decide to wait till the 110 degree weather weather died down but we got a call from a MV employee calling to check if we wanted to use the warranty because it was almost expired. Wow, nice right? So he stops by and says oh well maybe we can do this and that and this to maybe not make your yard look so …… (ugly). I apologized how it looked and explained that while doing yard work I ended up getting injured which resulted in emergency surgery so we didn’t have time but it was stuff we could easily fix. My husband went to go pick out a new tree and they tried to upsell him saying we could rip out our good palms and replace with these other more expensive palms which would have resulted in in thousands of more $$$. We declined and said please just replace the one tree. They came to replace the tree and when they were done he had me come look at the tree and noticed I kept blinking (I explained my eye surgery etc and that the sun made it hard to see) then said ok sign here if the tree looks good. My husband comes home and says did you see the (grass) yard? I said I saw the tree (the tree is to the south off our porch, we have grass to the north) he had me look at the tree, he says there are tractor marks in the grass. 😮💨 I messaged the guy and stated that I feel the company is very sneaky with removing warranties, not fully explaining or going over the bullet points of paperwork your signing etc…. Oh don’t worry that’s why we are insured, I can’t believe they didn’t use the dolly, it was on your paperwork to use the dolly but if they used a tractor they are supposed to put plywood down, we will get it fixed, don’t worry, I’ll stop by and look at the damage with my manager. 1 days later nothing, then I get a text with a picture of the plywood with a drawn on stick figure with a smiley face says see they used plywood. I replied and said I never stated they didn’t but as you can see by this video from my house camera the tractor is so heavy that you can hear the plywood cracking and see it pop up because it’s so heavy this leaving tire diviys in my yard. All we want is your guys to come fill it in so it’s as level as possible. Nothing, crickets….. I let a week go by waiting to hear anything so went through the BBB before I posted trying to give them the chance to make it right and again Nothing.
Summer K seriously lived up to her name! She was bright and sun shiny! She helped me pick a good house plant for a celebration. Then she even brought it over to the pots with me to show me what size would work best and how to keep my new money tree happy. She also recommended and new product and gave me a pro tip to sprinkle it on the soil and then water it, instead of trying to mix it in the watering can. Paul greeted me at the door with a lot of enthusiasm and was very friendly! He then helped me out to my car even with just my little money tree and fertilizer. He took the time to figure out how to buckle it in even. Beautiful facility and wonderful knowledgeable employees.
On April 30 I purchased a Meyer Lemon Tree from Moon Valley Nursery. At the time of purchase, I was told the dirt like residue on the leaves was simply dirt and would wash off. The sales representative said they get dusty from sitting out, which made sense to me at the time. It was not dirt, but rather a fungicide spray residue. This was not disclosed and I’m still being lied to about it a month later. Two weeks after purchase, on May 14, I called in and tried to speak with someone about my tree. When I connected with a gentleman on the phone, I believe his name was Troy, he didn’t ask me any questions about what was going on, he just said to water it daily and give it Moon Juice. I told him I was provided Moon Dust and he said that would shock my tree and not to give it that. He asked how long it had been in the ground and if they planted it or I did, and I told him it was still in the pot. He told me to give it Moon Juice and water, and the conversation was then over. Feeling defeated, I texted with the sales representative I purchased the tree from, showed him pictures, and inquired about the health of the tree. He told me he’d have the Arborist look at it the next day and advise. The next day I was told it “doesn’t look that bad,” and to give it half a handful of fertilizer and a little more sun (it gets full sun all day). I was then told to update them in a couple of weeks and if it still needs attention or replacement to let him know and he’ll take care of it for me. I followed up again this week on May 28, two weeks after the previous contact. After a day of no response, I was sent a quick text that the arborist would look at it tomorrow. (Noticing a trend?) On Friday, after no response, I packed up the sick leaves and fruit and walked back into the nursery asking for answers about what was wrong with my tree, considering it was a lot of money spent. I was then deferred to their tree expert who was one of the least professional individuals I have ever met in my life (I wish I would’ve caught his name, I have a hunch it was the same rude gentleman from the phone call). He told me after looking at the photos I sent the sales rep that the new growth was “sexy” and he was happy to see my tree looking like it was this time of year. I was again told there was nothing wrong with my tree, to water it like crazy, and to purchase their insecticide which would allegedly help the tree, even though this “expert” just got done telling me my tree was fine. After some research and discussion with actual tree experts, it was identified it has a fungal disease and the residue on my leaves was from a previous fungal spray application. This has not been disclosed in my numerous conversations with more than one representative at this location. They are not forthright and their business practices are shady, at best. If I could provide 0 stars, I would. I hope this review deters even one person from doing business with them. I would hate to see anyone else waste their hard earned money from a nursery that does not care about their customers or doing the right thing. If you dig a little deeper into Moon Valley Nurseries, not just this location, you’ll learn this is a common theme from customers who purchase plants or trees from them without using their landscaping services. Update July 14: The sales rep reached out to me on July 4 after seeing my review and wanted to know how he could “make it right.” After a few texts back and forth, he stopped responding, and I still have no resolution.
