I have been working with Eve for a little over a year now. She has helped me to finally achieve my goals of weight loss in a healthy way. No short cuts or fad diets. The old fashion way of dedication, exercise, and clean eating. As a result, I’ve completely transformed my body composition by losing fat and gaining 5 pounds of muscle. She taught me how to dial in to my diet and meet my needs and wants for the day. I have always been active most of my life whether that be playing sports, work, or exercise but I was still overweight. I’ve tried it all from Vegan to Low Calorie diets, yeah, they worked but when I got off them it was back to square one. My relationship with food was always unhealthy. Using it to cope with stress or finding comfort in a pint of ice cream on the weekend. Working with Eve has helped me realize that food is fuel. It has helped me to dial in my diet during the week and then maybe switch it up a little bit on the weekend to enjoy different things with my family. It has also helped me to realize there are options out there for fast food. At first it was overwhelming for me because I wanted to create my own recipes and dial it in exactly down to the last macro. I later realized I just needed to follow what Eve outlined for me because she did all the work for me. Once I got comfortable in my routine and meals it was easy to find the ability to manipulate my calories to enjoy some fun things like ice cream on the weekend. I think everyone can benefit from a nutritionist. It’s good to know your base line of caloric intake. That being said, I think this is perfect for the person who has been working out but just not really 100% sure on the diet part. Thanks Eve!
Eve was able to give us an eating plan that we could live with as we entered our retirement years. Eve was honest with us and explained that it's the choices we make when it comes to eating and exercise that affects the way we look and feel. As a result, we've both lost weight and increased our metabolism! I have been a runner, and am now a walker. With proper diet and exercise, working with Eve, maybe running could be back in my future. I had two objectives when starting with Nutriworks: 1) to improve my general nutrition, especially now that I had to cook for myself. 2) get on a sports nutrition plan to support my passion for endurance sports. Eve listened to my objectives and tailored a meal plan that met both my objectives. She taught me how to properly proportion my meals and gave me a plan of foods I liked that were easy to prepare. In addition, she helped me tailor my plan to include better choices when my schedule forced me to eat out. Additionally, as part of the sports nutrition program she provided me with a list of pre workout and race day hydration and nutrition plans that were tailored for me based on several sweat tests and body composition measurements. One of the surprising things I learned was that I was not eating enough protein prior to starting the Nutriworks program. I now prefer to cook my own meals instead of eating out (huge because I never liked to cook before). My meals are always filling and by getting my proportions correct, I was able to stop snacking between meals. I was able to achieve my ideal weight, added muscle mass, and reduced my fat percentage. I have been able to maintain my weight without much fluctuation, something I was never able to do in the past! I feel better and my workouts are going better. I have already referred to Nutriworks. The sports program is great for anyone who wants to improve their performance. The general nutrition advice is also invaluable for anyone who wants to eat healthier and achieve their weight goals. I really benefited from the nutrition plan that I got. I like the food choices, and the plan is easy to follow. Learning how to proportion my meals has given me the confidence to improvise and add more variety. I also make smarter choices when I eat out. As a result, I am maintaining a healthy weight.
I got back into cycling in my mid 50s and have been vegan going on 6 years. Eve pointed out my carb/protein intake needed a lot of correction. I was given a daily plan for proper daily intake, and a nutrition plan for ride/race days. Eve also worked diligently on getting correct hydration schedule to achieve balanced hydration. I had no idea how important nutrition was as part of a training plan! I’d go so far to say 40-50% of my performance progress can be attributed to proper nutrition. As a result of the plan, I had noticeable improvement in my training. All my metrics improved exponentially. I felt strong and had zero “bonking” on long rides and races. I also learned that this isn’t just for a race or training day, it’s an everyday lifestyle change. It is extremely valuable to know how much and at what levels of carbs, protein, fats, and vitamins to consume daily. And the race day nutrition is an absolute game changer! I didn’t have to think about my hydration during races or training, I just followed the plan. In the last 9 weeks that Maria and I have been working together, I am down 12 pounds and my BMI is down 2.4%, but this isn’t even the best part. Knowledge is power!
