They wouldn't give me a new license due to using my maiden name as my middle name and suggested I go to the social security office to get my name changed back LOL. I then looked it up on PaDOTs website and found this. Using maiden name as middle name If you changed your middle name to your maiden name (e.g., "Jane Marie Smith" to "Jane Smith Johnson"), your documents must show a logical connection between names. Example: • Birth certificate: "Jane Marie Smith" • Certified marriage certificate: "Jane Smith married Fred Johnson" • Social Security card/proof of residency: "Jane Smith Johnson" I HAD THESE DOCUMENTS. I'm so mad. Now I have to waste my time and go back to get my license.
I had a very positive experience transferring an out-of-state license and applying for Real ID at this location. I arrived just before opening on a weekday and was able to avoid a long wait. The clerk who assisted me was efficient and professional, processing my paperwork/eye exam/photo all within 30 minutes. One note for future Real ID applicants at this location: while the website lists lease agreements as an accepted form of proof-of-residency, the clerk made it clear that they strongly prefer mail pieces with your name and address instead. I had brought a few pieces of mail just in case, and that made the process extremely simple.
Ive been to several different DMVs this by far is the quickest and most efficient. Thanks again! Charlie was the best agent in the building!!
I have never had so many problems for a simple address change, DL renewal anywhere before. Did everything online, should not have had any problems. THE people working here, need training on how to speak to the public. This is totally unacceptable. I have lived in multiple states, and have never been one to as rudely as I was at this location.
OMG! It took me longer to find a parking spot than it did inside getting my driver's license picture taken. This driver's license center is a hidden gold mine. It's NEVER that busy & I'm ALWAYS in & out in 10 min or less! The staff there was VERY nice AND helpful, too. Need something renewed? Go there for less headaches!!
