We took her French cooking class, and it was fantastic! We'd never taken a cooking class before and were unsure of what to expect. Just as described, she was prepared with everything we needed- we basically just had to show up ready to go! Chef Catalina (of course) teaches you how to make the recipes planned for the night, but she also adds a lot of informational tidbits about how to properly salt, how to correctly handle a knife, why bones are left in certain kinds of meat, etc, that translate to far beyond what you're learning to cook on that exact day. We left with our heads and bellies absolutely bursting. A wonderful way to spend a Friday night- we'll definitely be back for the other classes as well!
I would highly recommend class from Picnic List! Catalina is a phenomenal teacher and host. She can clearly explain steps to students at all levels of culinary experience and customize recipes to preferences and sources you have available. We had a lovely time attending the Thai cooking class and made the best pad thai sauce I've ever been able to do. If you're looking for a fun and unique birthday / graduation / wedding gift, I would definitely recommend checking out their classes!
I attended Catalina's Japanese cooking class with two friends. We were joined by a delightful couple. The whole evening was fantastic from beginning to end. Great company! Lovely space! Excellent cooking and prep tips! And delicious food! Catalina makes everyone feel completely at home in her beautiful kitchen.
I've done four of Catalina's classes and they are always great! My favorite was her Thai cooking class, but all are informative and delicious. Catalina is well-prepared and accommodating, not to mention her beautiful kitchen space. The bonus of having a sit-down meal with friend afterwards is "chef's kiss".
Just finished my first Japanese hand roll class with Catalina, and I’m leaving with a full belly and a big smile. Catalina was such a kind, genuine host and an excellent teacher. I had the best time and can’t wait to try more of her classes. Highly recommend! ☺️
