We come here pretty regularly, but just learned it's also local--not a chain. And they fly in their fish to avoid freezing, and the service is great. Plus the Ramen is above chicken noodle soup as treatment for a common cold.

Sushi I ordered: - Love Triangle roll: Inside is imitation crab mix and avocado, outside was masago, tuna, and salmon (or you can sub for any other fish - I got yellowtail because they ran out salmon). - Sunrise roll: inside had avocado, and Crystal shrimp, which is breaded, but I subbed that out for immitation crab mix, which has a little bit of gluten in it too but not so much. On top was a super thin lemon slice, and a tangy white creamy sauce called Lobster sauce. - Note: their miso soup is gluten-free. Lobster sauce is a mayo-based tangy zesty sauce that's also gluten-free. Eel sauce has a little bit of gluen. They have gluten-free soy sauce. - Their green tea is really good! Its brewed traditional matcha green tea leaves. They also have jasmine tea - also very good. - All of their fish is super fresh! They have it overnighted from the fishers! - Their masago is really fresh, it does *not* taste fishy. It was very good! (We had just been to "Yoshi Mame" for sushi a few days prior, and their masago was very fishy tasting and gross.) - Even the ginger here is better than other places. Here at Samurai, it was real ginger, tan colored. (Not the fake pink stuff that tastes like it's been falsely sweetened - like they have at "Yoshi Mame"). - Overall, they have a lot of creative sushi rolls on the menu and I was able to find some new, fun rolls to try that were not spicy or deep fried! :) - This is now my favorite sushi spot out of all of the 16 sushi places i have tried so far in ABQ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ✨️

Probably the best sushi I’ve had in Albuquerque. Generous with the fish. Don’t use too much rice on the nigiri. The rice is perfectly chewy. Really good sushi rice. This is my go to spot in town now.

Beyond the incredible food the service was just as impressive. The staff goes above and beyond to provide an amazing dining experience. Hands down one of the best Sushi experiences I’ve ever had!
