I just left from this store and this was the first time I’ve experienced horrible service. I spoke to 2 employees about making a USPS return I was told that I needed to print out the shipping label to make return. The employee gave me a card to send the information to. I ask the staff in the print section if he received it he said it takes time but never mention the steps needed to take to print it. While I was waiting there were no other customers and I was making small talk with the staff about what I was trying to do. All off a sudden I was told that the store was closed and refused to assist me and told me to speak with the manager Kory. After explaining the situation to the manager, Kory proceeded to take no accountability for his staff and provided no solution and told me the store is closed and that I must leave. Customer service is something that went downhill at this location and will be taking my business elsewhere.
I had a great experience with the person I spoke to over the phone to verify if this location participates in the free e-waste recycling program the Staples website mentions, however, when I came in-person, the cashier immediately assumed and misguided me to the Amazon cashier without greeting, asking, and/or even letting me speak! How more rude and uneducated can one be? When I came the other direction to ask another Staples cashier (not Amazon), she guided me back to the cashier who misguided me at the main registrar, and the cashier at the main registrar went on again and continued to insist I was there for Amazon. I sure hope they learn about the "Fundamentals of Customer Service" and let her assist customers for Amazon returns/exchanges instead...
Great service, great prices on tech equipment. PC inventory could be better, but I am happy with my Black Friday purchase of a laptop. Also used my $25 Staples reward which I forgot I had.
Running a small business, I often rely on Staples for bulk printing and office supplies. Their printing service is consistent and professional, making my flyers look better than I imagined. Prices are competitive, and their rewards program really saves me money over time. I consider the value outstanding for what I get back.
Discriminatory towards the disabled and elderly. Staff loses patience and responds over dramatic, controlling and authoritative. It’s as if they’ve had meetings as to how to treat those they don’t want in their store. In the Amazon returns section, they tap their feet, their hands if you’re taking too long, make insidious remarks, tell the person to stand aside since they’re being too slow, or ignore the customers altogether while talking amongst themselves and doing other store chores. This store stands out as hateful and disrespectful and will probably be closed in the future. I’ve also gone to this Staples when it says it’s open only to find the store has closed early or suddenly changed its hours. I recently moved back to Sacramento and the Staples I went to in Tulare Country was helpful, patient and customer friendly. There was no off the hook remarks or sarcasm or stomping, as if in a childlike burst of anger, as it is here. I did put in a formal complaint, suggested to them to check footage since the customer service complaint line was astounded at the behavior I was complaining about and told me this definitely needed to be addressed immediately. I suggest to all reading this that if you’ve experienced disrespect by any staff here to call your complaint in. If this behavior goes unattended it will escalate. I am a retired business owner and if this behavior occurred in my building, there would be no warning, but immediate dismissal. Staples is receiving a bad reputation due to its staff and management. It is a store that has survived through economic crisis and if it is not competitive and customer friendly, it will end up closing its stores due to lack of business.
