i came here bc i used to go to swanky sugar (amazing place in OB) but my regular girl has moved away so i wanted to branch out and find somewhere new, i tried to come here and the atmosphere was nice, girls were friendly but what bothered me was basically, i have pcos, we’re all women, it’s totally normal! i started spotting a tad bit and i mean very faint, light pink, one drop of not even red blood, i let the girl know and she tells me due that being a health hazard she can’t wax me that day, she says i can put a tampon in or reschedule, i have never worn a tampon so i don’t have one but i tell her if she has one i’ll wear it (even if im uncomfortable which already is crazy bc ur supposed to be comfortable during a wax) and she comes back and says they don’t have tampons, every wax place i have been to has carried wipes, liners, tampons, pads etc, what BRAZILIAN WAX PLACE doesn’t have even a tampon… HELLO? and no i dont mean they ran out, she said they don’t carry them and she’ll look around for one😭so then she asked if i wanted to reschedule for the next day when im not on my period…riddle me this 😭so if i have my period NOW what makes u think that i wouldn’t have it…TOMORROW 😭 i had driven half an hour to this location and it was my only day off, i had to reschedule and come back the next day and there was no problem and i was still very lightly spotting, i just didn’t tell the girl and guess what, she couldn’t tell, it was just a complete waste of my time, like she didn’t allow me to get waxed bc i was “on my period” but let me come back the next day, mind you…i even told her it’s just light spotting and that it should honestly go away, i put an example of another place nearby as well that specifies it’s fine too (and yes i know why didn’t i go there instead) all this was very unexpected and this place had good reviews so i went here first, another thing was i asked the girl not to put baby powder on my skin since it irritates it and she did anyway then i got a bunch of ingrown hairs bc of it which flared up my eczema, which by the way eczema is way more gross down there then a period, like girl 😭😭😭lowkey don’t come here yall

HORRIBLE experience. This is easily one of the most misleading membership models I’ve ever encountered. I went to the Liberty Station location for my first sugaring appointment a few months back, and the front desk heavily pushed their membership (as expected.) They made it sound simple and worth it, telling me I’d get the full benefit if I came in just ONE more time, so I signed up. I should have known better. What they failed to mention is how impossible the membership actually is to use. I missed a couple of months, which I owned, but when I tried to pause my account so I could use the 3 to 4 credits I had already paid for, I was told I couldn’t pause if I planned on booking anything. When I asked about canceling, they said I could cancel but would immediately lose all unused credits. So how in the world is anyone supposed to use multiple waxes or spray tans in a single month before canceling?! It’s unrealistic and feels intentionally structured to make customers lose money. Speaking with Paige, the store manager, made it even worse. There was zero empathy, zero flexibility, and every single question was met with a flat “no.” For anyone new to waxing who might miss a month or two, you will NEVER get your money back. None of this was made clear upfront. Yes, technically the fine print exists, but this business model depends on people not reading it. It is rigid, confusing, and completely unfair. All I want is my money back or at least the chance to use the credits I already paid for without being forced to stay trapped in a vicious billing cycle that seems intentionally designed for customers to lose.

BAD ERGONOMICS AND SEATING FOR A 30% AVERAGE HIGHER PRICE The seating experience was very bad, and could not recommend this place. When I first entered the room, there was a flat bad. Not a normal, typical esthetician spa bed as seen below (second picture). (which have 1) natural head padding, and 2) tilted adjustable seating The person tried to adjust and offered me a triangle pillow which was not good quality, not the technicians fault neither. It was a semi-triangle instead of a normal pillow (which is oval), making it worse. The whole experience on my head and neck was very uncomfortable, without a titled back seat. After lying there for an hour, I got moderate neck shoulder pain waking up next morning. I have done hair removal 5 times already at other places, and never had this experience. Why would the product director and owners allow this kind of seating? (Flat bed, non adjustable, non tilted)?? Any simple google search for spa bed will bring you the first picture ergonimic adjustable bed below. They are familiar how spa beds typically look like in the industry. It was bad for younger men, I cant imaging how the elderly customers feel. When I contacted customer service email politely first they said those were standard spa beds which is not true in San Diego , go around and look. That was the first lie they said. I asked for a $40 partial refund , not even full. I asked that they call which they did not. Good luck. See stupid response below ⬇️ ⬇️ , why would I want a gift card to risk hurting neck again?

I have been Brazilian waxing for more than 15 years, how did I not know about sugar waxing???!!! I'm honestly blown away! Big shout out to Sugar + Bronzed, this new company that's just established here in San Diego. They provided the most comfortable experience I have ever had. The results are incredible, less painful than waxing, less redness and my skin is nowhere irritated. I will never go back to regular waxing again. This is my second time I have been sugar waxed. Thank you to Marissa with her professionalism. I cannot recommend this place enough. It truly is the new sweet spot for your waxing needs.

I love the location and great energy in the relaxing, inviting atmosphere! The workers are all great, very friendly and helpful. My tan always comes out beautiful. I love the fact you can pick your color, light to dark, 1-4, and even go back in between visits for face touch-ups. The tan is very even and the color is natural! I feel really energized and healthy after my Sugared & Bronzed tan and can't wait to go back for the next visit! I would highly recommend the Liberty Station location!
