We went to Sumo for our first wedding anniversary and were let down so much so we wished we were at Shogun in Austin. We had sushi and Teppanyaki and it was not worth the money that was paid. My wife had scallops and I had Wagyu steak. My wife said her plate was OK but my steak was definitely overcooked. I asked for medium and I got well done. The chef was a little overconfident and wasn’t very talented. On the door outside it’s at SA Today’s 2025 best pick for Japanese restaurant, which I think they need a new food reviewer. Also, our sushi was good, but we did not receive a full role just eight pieces. I would not suggest this place for the price. It looked very rundown on the inside. Oh yeah, and the tea tasted like I was on a cruise ship with recycled water.
