We cannot say enough great things about the Suzuki program and the superior music training my son has received at this school with Mr Tony. We started classic guitar lessons when he was four years old and Tony has been the best teacher we could have asked for. Our son often says he doesn’t want to miss a lesson because he enjoys spending time with Mr. Tony. Not only has he been taught the skills to play classic guitar, the experiences he has had playing in the community and recitals throughout the year is unmatched. Before deciding on the school, we looked at other music schools in the area but we’re shocked at the stark differences and it was obvious from the beginning they did not provide such a unique and individualized approach to music.
The experience our family has had at RO Suzuki has been fantastic. Our oldest child started playing the cello at 3 and the enviornment is so encouraging. The goal of Suzuki is to instill a love of music and learning how to work hard. My child has grown so much while there and we are part of the family. If you are thinking about a music program, this is the place you should choose.
The method and philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki is alive and active at this school. SRO continues to produce accomplished musicians with noble hearts. I have two children in the program (both began their study at age two - now seven and ten) and the results speak for themselves. Every child can learn to play an instrument. Come and see what is possible.
I enrolled my kids at Suzuki Royal Oak when they were very young. SRO has proved to be an outstanding program for my kids from the word go. Suzuki method helps with development of auralization skills of kids from a young age. In other words, kids are encouraged to listen to music from the beginning, which allows them to internalize musical notes, chords and scales. SRO staff is very friendly and invests a lot of effort in teaching 1-on-1 lessons while involving parents with kids’ education; parents’ involvement at SRO is a matter of great pride for my kids. Additionally, there are group lessons to teach music-theory, instill camaraderie with peers and expose kids to other musical instruments. Seasonally, SRO holds recitals and concerts where all students can participate (no exceptions), which is great confidence booster. Overall this program can serve you in more ways than one.
This has been an amazing program for my daughter, she has been with the program since she was 3 1/2 and her growth in confidence and educational enrichment through studying the Violin has been amazing, she is now 12 and loving it, her performances make me cry !. She's excelling in Math at school too, another welcome side effect from early music education. Her teachers have been a huge part of this, with some of the best in the business, nationally recognized, all in a nurturing and non competitive environment. Unique to this program she experiences weekly group classes in addition to her private lessons which helps with the social aspects also. I wish more people new about how much this can enrich their children's lives.
