Great place for traditional Japanese street food. The service was great too. We tried Lots of new dishes, and all were good.

If you are looking for authentic, this is about as close as you can get before getting on a plane and going to Japan. I have also been to Japan many times and found this to be the most authentic experience in Pittsburgh. Definitely will be back! As other reviews have said, only complaint is that the salmon onigiri has next to no salmon inside of it. And Everytime I order rice, it never arrives and I have to remind the staff

Wonderful place! Easy to put a reservation in a couple days before. The experience did take us back to our Japan vacation a little, with ordering on a tablet, the delicious food and drink, general atmosphere, and the service. The okonomiyaki, shrimp tempura, and gyoza were all so tasty. I didn’t feel like we were charged way too much for things. My only complaint is with the salmon yaki onigiri… It had only the tiniest flake of salmon in it, while my friend’s had a more normal amount.

Teppanyaki Kyoto is my favourite (whole-in-the-wall) Japanese Izakaya restaurants in town! We love the Hiroshimayaki (a Japanese pancake with yakisoba, cabbage, eggs and teppanyaki and mayo sauce) and Karage Chicken (Japanese Fried Chicken). The Takoyaki (Octopus balls), Chicken/Pork Katsu Curry, and Japanese Croquettes are great too! Their service is quick, but they can get quite busy, so I recommend reserving a spot.

I just came back from Kyoto around 2 months ago, and I accidentally discovered this hidden gem in Pittsburgh! Their food tastes exactly like, sometimes even better, than some of the food I had at Kyoto. The decorations in store is also very aesthetic as well, and not to mention, their price is also very fair! We ordered 8-9 dishes and it was only around $70! 15/10 WOULD RECOMMEND AND I WOULD COME BACK AGAIN!!!
