This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. We were told we had a bed bug infestation, and they recommended we pay extra for steam. They said to empty all of our closets and that they would spray pesticide on all of the floor trim, even pull the furniture from the walls to spray the trim. They would remove the outlet covers and light switches and spray inside of the walls. They would remove our clothes from our dressers and steam every drawer, then they would put everything back. They would spray all the furniture by the beds, all our soft chairs and both of our couches. It was supposed to take 4 hrs to clean the whole house and we couldn't come back for 3 or 4 hrs. I checked our ring camera and our indoor cameras and they were only there for less than 2 hrs. They didn't spray the pesticide all over the trim or remove the outlet covers. They were only in the bed rooms and they only sprayed 1 of our 2 couches. They only had a white pesticide bottle, 2 aerosol sprays, large clear bags, mattress encasing and 2 gas masks. On the paper work they sent me they stated that they steamed our house. I called and I was told that they did use the steam. After I told them that we have cameras he said that if they didn't use the steam, it was because we didn't have an infestation and it wasn't necessary. I told him I wanted a refund for the steam because they didn't steam our house and a refund because they didn't spray the whole house. I said I would only pay for the pesticide on our mattresses, the encasing for the mattresses, and the pesticide for 1 couch. I said I would only pay for the work that they did. They said they wouldn't refund me. Since I paid with my credit card I called them and they refunded our money. Then Terminix said they did the work and my credit card gave them the money. I had to resend all of our paperwork and sent images from my camera showing what they brought in and what they took (no steamer) and they refunded my money. Months later I got a collection bill and I had to send all the paperwork from my credit card. They said I didn't have to pay it. I thought I wouldn't have problems with Terminix because they're a big company, but because they're a big company they don't care about their customers.
My experience with Terminix has been incredibly frustrating and deeply disappointing. I canceled my service on November 18th—well before the next billing cycle on November 24th—yet I was still charged. I immediately requested a refund, but that has turned into an ordeal of its own. When I first called Terminix, the agent confirmed that I had canceled in time and agreed that I should not have been charged. She escalated the issue and assured me someone would follow up. Instead of a solution, a few days later I received a call about an “outstanding balance,” which made no sense since my service had already been canceled. I explained the situation again, and that agent also escalated the issue. A week later, I received yet another bill. Frustrated, I called back and spoke with a third agent who informed me that the issue had already been escalated to the branch three times—yet each time, my refund request had been denied with no explanation. I asked to speak with a manager, and she refused, stating there was “nothing more that could be done.” When I questioned why she would not transfer me after I explicitly requested a manager, she talked over me and repeated the same scripted response. When I insisted again, she put me on hold for ten minutes, only to return and tell me that after reviewing the notes, the answer was still the same—and she had never even spoken to a manager. At that point, I was furious. The lack of effort and dismissive attitude were completely unacceptable. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve this issue, Terminix continues to claim I owe money and still refuses to refund the charge. I paid for a service that did not work, canceled appropriately, and requested a refund that I am rightfully owed. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer care has been exhausting. I would not recommend Terminix to anyone. Their poor customer service, unprofessional handling of simple issues, and refusal to take responsibility speak volumes. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
Our technician is very good about explaining everything. He expertly answers our question and goes above and beyond to take care of us. Even gives recommendations based on our situation like we’re having a baby next month.
I will never again recommend this company to anyone. The appalling lack of proper communication that I have had to deal with is absolutely inexcusable and shows a serious disrespect to customers. No amount of apologies will fix the problem when they cant do a better job of communicating from the call center to the local branches when relaying information to book appointments and do a better job of communication with technicians who are supposed to be doing appointments. Furthermore basic common decency is sorely lacking when dealing with technicians to customers. If you can't be respectful enough to call or text to let a client know your on the way & or running late with an estimated time for arrival instead of leaving them waiting for several hours wasting their time then you seriously are in the wrong line of work and need to go back & learn what comes with proper customer service skills. A customer's time is just as valuable and important as the person who works providing a service be it pest control food industry or retail shop. None of them would have jobs without the customers & you don't keep a business going on occasional one shot customers you need repeat business with good customer service skills and communication skills. I had used Terminex in the past for several years both in Texas and Oklahoma and I never had problems before with communication but it has been at least 6 years since I needed them so now with a recent move & needing to start service back up to get rid of a few pest problems before my wedding this week I started back up with them and I had nothing but problems with them. I very clearly said multiple times with them what I needed help with & the dates and times I needed them to come out and they mixed up dates, mixed up times, they had 1 tech come out who claimed she couldn't do treatment in the attic because she wasn't authorized to use a ladder and she was over 2 hours late never called to say running late or on the way til I had to call to find out why they hadn't showed yet, then they had made 2 different appointments to do inspection instead of treatment service when I very clearly already said they had done inspection. Then the first tech left some of their treatment chemicals behind after they left, the last 2 appointments never called or texted to say if they were on the way & never showed. So by my count you have three strikes against you for not getting your techs to communicate with me about appointments and I have had several customer service center people say they noted comments for the techs but it did absolutely no good so I will not accept any more apologies I will find a different company who can get me the results I need. 2 treatment visits is not 4 and did not fix the pest problems.
I have had regular treatments for some time now through the McKinney, TX branch. More specifically Kirk Lewis is the guy that comes every time. Communication is great and if we have any issues he is there within 24 hours of making him aware. I would and often do recommend Terminix to friends and family. Thanks for the great service.
