Booked my 2 boys appointments online for a Friday at 6:30. Was met with loud music that we could barely speak over, obnoxious “professionals” trying to “steal” each others bookings, no introductions to who anyone was, my sons barber eating greasy chicken out of a bag right before my sons hair cut- just one bad experience after another. Don’t go by their prices online because even though they didn’t scissor either of my boys they still charged them the $35 cut instead of the $30 that I booked. When I asked for my one sons to be taken a little shorter I was met with attitude and “I’m trying to get home, you all booked so late”… then when checking out I was told “I usually charge more for after 6pm” All in all, totally disgusted, will not return.
After having essentially the same haircut for nearly 30 years, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and look for a barbershop that could handle clean, subtle design work. That search led me to The Fade Factory, and I couldn’t have picked a better place to take that leap. I called ahead, had a quick and easy conversation, and was able to walk in without any issue. Thomas was the barber who took care of me, and from the start the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed. I introduced myself, we exchanged a fist bump, and the nerves I walked in with immediately started to fade. Despite never having design lines before, I trusted his expertise and gave him artistic freedom—and that trust paid off. Thomas handled the cut, stubble shave, and design work with precision and confidence. He kept me turned away from the mirror the entire time, classic barber style, and saved the reveal for the end. The result was a pair of subtle design lines at my left temple that were surgically clean. I received compliments on the cut all day. The shop itself is clean, comfortable, and inviting, with sports talk shows playing on multiple TVs and even a pool table, giving it a laid-back, community feel. While they primarily take bookings through their website, calling ahead or walking in isn’t an issue. The barbers here clearly hold themselves to a high standard and take serious pride in their work. I walked in nervous and unsure. I walked out grateful I trusted the process. Zero complaints—The Fade Factory delivers exactly what a great barbershop should.
We arrived 10 minutes early and waited for 45 minutes before the barber got to my first son. It was very unprofessional because he was rotating between two different chairs constantly putting down clippers to goof off and talk with other barber’s at their stations. He clearly overextended himself accepting walk-ins and not prioritizing those with appointments. He didn’t blend my son’s taper at all and my other son’s line was pushed back so he put enhancements on his skin to camouflage the mistake. Their grandfathers funeral is tomorrow and now I’m scrambling trying to find someone to fix this hack job and I’m out 60 bucks. Edit: after my post the owner reached out he offered to fix their cuts which he did. He cares about his clients and his business. If someone on his staff messes up don’t worry he’ll fix it!
Came here tonight to get my son’s hair cut after he’s been begging me for years (see pics on why I didn’t want to cut it) I finally caved. I came in and was met with a nice greeting and quick “just hang out we will be with you in a minute” and that was the truth. We were in a chair in under 10 minutes. No appointment. I brought in a reference pic and asked them to please take care of his curls, to not use clippers or thinning shears on the top, too much as to keep the curl shape. Not only was the barber kind and understanding he was attentive and confident with his cut. My son love his hair, I am very happy with it as well and will be back! Not sure the barbers name- I will have to update when I go back!
Great location, pricing, and service. Got cleaned up by Thomas, and he definitely deserves Master Barber on his shirt. When a barber knows what they doing, the cut just feels right, and I don't need a mirror check. As a visitor from Duval County, I've found my spot whenever I come into town.
