Despite seeing recent negative reviews which went against everything I'd heard about it, the whole experience was very good. There are plenty of different saunas steam rooms ice rooms etc.a nice big swimming pool tho bit of a lack of seating for size of the pool. The choice of food was very good, tasty. The "room" for the overnight stay was an apartment far more than needed for the night but happy, balcony tv all the facilities, and food for breakfast inc pint of milk pint of orange, cereal, bagels etc etc The staff were helpful and polite. My only criticism as I am doing a genuine review would be outside "hot tub" yeh...only the one & no bigger than a standard garden tub and despite it not being too busy as straight after Xmas no chance of using it, they could do with at least 4 of them but overall a good experience in a lovely setting.
We went at the end of November as a treat. Our treatments started late but there was no add on time at the end so treatments we cut short by 5/6 mins on each treatment. We had a really nice break from arriving until our evening meal. The meal was lovely but the room temperature was unbearable. We couldn't finish our main course as we were too hot, we had to retreat to standing outside in the cold for 10 mins before going upto our room. The temperature in the room was also hot and we had turned the temperature to off but still had an uncomfortable night. We should have complained when we checked out but it was very busy as everyone checks out at 10am so we thought we would leave it and send an email. We didn't get much luck with the email, although Rebecca did apologise, she said she couldn't do anything about it as we didn't complain at the time (don't know about you lot but i'm not going down and complaining at 4am) The reply to my complaint about the dining room being so hot was, we have outdoor space for you to use (did she really think we would take our meal outside and sit there in the cold!) She did offer us a 20% discount on extra treatments we would book on our next visit, but as I said to her many times, we don't book extra treatments as they are too expensive. I asked if she could partially refund what we paid or a discount on our next visit (not extra treatments) but she declined this. This is why unfortunately I have given 2 stars and won't return 😔
This was the worst massage experience I’ve had to date. I booked an Elemis pregnancy massage. This was my second massage during this pregnancy unfortunately, it was by far the worst both for pregnancy and non-pregnancy massages. Firstly, the treatment lasted around 30 minutes or less, despite being booked for an hour. Secondly, the massage took place on the floor, using a duvet and pillows as a makeshift “massage table.” There was no pregnancy pillow or proper side-lying support, which made the experience extremely uncomfortable. Lastly, there was no real massage technique involved. The therapist simply applied oil with very light, rushed, and uncoordinated movements. Even after asking for firmer pressure, there was no noticeable improvement. If you are looking for a pregnancy massage, I would strongly advise against going here. It was a complete waste of both time and money. The other place I went to earlier in my pregnancy was Le Petit spa in Halifax, it is small and not exactly fancy but I would rate the experience as being 10x better and highly recommend it as an alternative.
Stayed here overnight with 6 of us for my mums 60th and it was amazing from start to finish. The 2 bed apartment was massive, clean and had everything we needed. The lunch and evening meal were delicious, the spa itself was fantastic so much to do. The body scrub was amazing and smelt great afterwards. The staff were friendly, professional and nothing seemed too much and always smiling. Not too noisy and parking was a breeze. Will absolutely visit again! Thank you for making our break so wonderful.
I’ve just returned from a wonderful spa weekend, and I can’t say enough about how fantastic the experience was. From the moment we arrived, the reception team made us feel truly welcome — especially Aston and Emily. Both of them went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in ensuring everything was perfect for us. Whether it was answering questions, helping with arrangements, or simply offering friendly conversation, they made the whole experience feel personal and special. Aston and Emily are absolute credits to the spa, and their outstanding service made our weekend even more memorable. Highly recommend!
