I’m in tears actually, as I post this!! All 6’3” and 425lbs of tattooed and pierced burly bearded man, that I am!! This place must have been blessed by Jesus- these staff members, vet techs, vets, and all the above r literally going to have mansions in heaven!! I had rescued these two fur babies from a bad situation/ not a shelter or rescue place- a cold backyard in the hood inside a 30 something inch rusty foldable wire crate they could barely lay down in together!! They hadn’t eaten all day at least- who knows why, at only 18 months old (if that’s really how old they r) someone would abandon them??? I was told they were show dogs?? Did they lose a show? Where they too much to love or handle? Who know who cares but I came to the rescue!! Even tho I’m on a fixed income receiving SSI for my mental and physical health- which I wasn’t always this way- and NO ONE within several miles of me wanted to help!! I had blew over $300 I didn’t have sending my bank account under negative by hundreds and THIS PLACE HELPED ME WHEN NO ONE ELSE WOULD!! I don’t have pet insurance and no credit thing or funding thing will help me cause credit wise I don’t exist!! BUT THEY DID!! They worked with me so I could ensure they got their shots and dewormer- I now have another issue and the vet place I went to by me charged me over $3000 JUST TO SEE WHATS GOING ON!! This place quoted me less than or about half that!! And said they’d still work with me and also help me find resources to make it happen!! I love these dogs and I like them needed a second chance and for someone to take a chance on me and they need that too!! But as much as I love my babies if I had to surrender then or one of them so they COULD get the help they need I would do whatever I have to so that they’re ok!! I’m not selfish!! But I do wanna keep my babies as they’re r and we’re bonded to each other and now to me as well!! And they’ve been through enough!! They deserve the best in life!! And I thank and bless everyone at the VIP Animal Hospital here in Elizabeth- and soon will find out how the Wayne location is cause they’re closer to where I live!! But I must say so far my experience has been nothing but a blessing!!! Thank God there’s still decent ppl in the world!!
I’ve been bringing my dog here for quite some time, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tony. He has always been patient, caring, and so understanding. My dog can be extremely anxious, but he handles him so well and never makes me feel like he’s “too difficult.” He takes his time, explains everything clearly, and genuinely cares about both the pets and their owners. Recently, though, I had an appointment with another doctor (Dr. Souza), and the experience just didn’t feel the same. I saw Dr souza one day, paid for that visit, and was told to come back the next day for my dog’s blood work, which I completely understood. What I don’t understand is why the following day when I went for my pets bloodwork, I was told I’d have to pay $40 just to speak with her again. Technically, things weren’t even resolved from the day before, this was a continuation of the same issue. So was she planning on doing the bloodwork without saying a single word simply because it cost $40 to talk to her? Lol. I’m a very understanding person and yet this didn’t make sense to me, because as I said this was a continuation of the day before, which was paid for. On top of that, I didn’t like being told that another option might be to find a different location who could “better handle” my dog’s anxiety. Dr. Tony has never had any problem with him, has never made me feel as if my dog’s anxiety is too difficult to deal with. He’s always patient and knows exactly how to work with him. Hearing that suggestion honestly felt dismissive and unnecessary. Overall, I felt like Dr. Souza seemed bothered when we asked questions and didn’t really take the time to look deeper into what was going on with my dog. It came across as if she was more focused on making money than on truly caring for my pets well being, which was really disappointing. I truly hope no one has to feel the way I did after that experience. Pet owners come in already worried and just want the best for their animals, the last thing anyone should feel is discouraged or unwelcome. With that said, I’m very thankful for Dr.Tony and his son because of them I felt way better after my visit.
Dr Tony is so great. And his son. They made my Fluffy feel great, after quite a messy anal gland cleaning. And his vaccination.
[Oct-1-25] This *was* an incredible Vet clinic led by Dr. Tony. He is now retiring and left it with Dr. Ahn (spell check) who primarily leads a different clinic in Wayne. This location is now a "sister clinic" that is led by fresh faces and has a NEW SYSTEM FOR CALLS AND APPOINTMENTS. I must stress this, bc calling is impossible. There is an app that lets you schedule appointments and ask questions. It's by invitation only to existing clients. I *assume* this is only during their transition of ownership...but we'll see. The staff here may now be different so please don't consider this to be the same trusted clinic it once was. It may be great, but for now, we don't know. The staff at the now main clinic in Wayne is...mixed. some are amazing, some are insensitive and clearly just "working a job". We have a golden retriever with hematoma and they treated us incredibly well, patient, and caring. Price was reasonable for us, and we have just one complaint -- contacting them and scheduling is too troublesome right now. And leads to massive distrust and switching off to another vet. Will update if anything changes. I hope this helps adjust your expectations for finding care for your furry family here. :)
We recently brought our new bunny here after noticing he had developed a limp from jumping around. The pet store we purchased him from recommended this clinic, and I’m so glad they did. I was really stressed—especially because my son absolutely adores this bunny—but the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They had us come in right away, took an x-ray, and confirmed that the leg was broken. They splinted it with great care and explained everything clearly. Given the circumstances, it was an amazing experience. The compassion and professionalism of both the doctor and the entire team really stood out. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone needing care for their pet.
