Dr.JJ has treated my pet on multiple occasions and his compassion and care for her is above and beyond. This includes a procedure under sedation that not only had a good outcome come but the follow up care was gold standard. I was able to easily get the drain rechecked and the sutures monitored to ensure healing was going in the right direction. The chandler er staff is always top notch I feel very comfortable knowing my fur baby is in their hands. I would highly recommend 1st pet vet in Chandler. The care and compassionate staff has for treating fur babies is GOLD all the way. They aren't just a number they remembered, important, and a priority to all the stafff.
I love the doctors, vet techs, and entire staff at 1st Pet in Chandler. This group of professionals is still independent, and not owned by one of the conglomerates. Their independence shows in the time they take with each patient (and the pet parents!). I can ask as many questions as I need to, and I will always get a straight and honest answer. The staff are also very caring with the animals, knowing each has their own quirks and personalities. And they fully understand these are our family members. I can't say enough good things about this group of people !
I brought my 7 yr old cat to 1st Pet ER after a recommendation from her primary vet. Unfortunately, within a few hours she had to be put down. This was my first experience putting a pet down, and it was incredibly emotional, but Dr. (I believe was her name) and the entire team were amazing. They were patient, answered all of my questions, offered multiple options, and provided honest, professional guidance. Their compassion and support during such a difficult time meant so much to me. When I returned to pick up my cat’s remains, they offered comfort and even included a card signed by all the staff. I will never forget their kindness. Thank you, 1st Pet Vet, for helping me through one of the hardest moments of my life
I unfortunately left this visit feeling disappointed. I brought my cat in because he was ill. They kept him for a “full exam”, did bloodwork & gave him fluids & was sent home. The day after we arrived home, we discovered an anal gland abscess. I took him to a different vet who confirmed that this was the root cause of his issues. Because of that, the bloodwork & fluids wouldn’t have needed to be given if they had spotted the abscess in the first place. That also leads me to believe that a “full” exam wasn’t really done. They ultimately diagnosed him with “overexertion from our stairs”. I did follow up with the clinic afterward. They were responsive and offered a partial refund, which I appreciate, although it didn’t fully reflect the cost of the visit or the impact of the missed issue. The staff was kind and professional, but this experience affected my confidence in the thoroughness of the exam. I’m sharing this in hopes it helps improve exam consistency and communication for future customers.
We are so incredibly grateful to Dr. Kachka and the amazing team at 1st Pet Vet. When we brought in our dog Roscoe, we truly thought we were going to lose him. It was one of the scariest moments for our family. But from the moment we arrived, the care and compassion from the staff was evident. Dr. Kachka immediately put Roscoe on a treatment plan and closely monitored his progress. Thanks to their quick action and thorough care, Roscoe steadily improved. We followed the plan closely and are so happy to say he’s now back to his normal, happy self! Thank you to everyone at 1st Pet Vet for giving us more time with our sweet boy. We couldn’t be more thankful.
