My sons and I have been going to A's for the last 12 years. I've gone for a more conservative look (fade or high & tight, and clean up the fringe), whereas the boys have gotten whatever works for them, at times point a photo on the wall. They were gifted better hair than I to choose whatever. Everything reasonable, A and the gang are very personable and we've watched all of our kids grow up (similar sports growing up). We're all sold on the offer for post-cut rinse and shoulder massage. Steady 3-4 week appts.
Best barbershop in Hawaii, maybe the world. I just moved away, and really miss these ladies and their amazing skills. They listen and know how to make anybody look their best. Make an appointment or walk-in to freshen up your fade or whatever you need. After cleaning you up, they also offer a free rinse and a short shoulder massage, so make sure to show your appreciation with a tip.
I got my hair cut at A's Barber Shop last Friday for the first time. They have 2 shops right next to each other - 1 men's and the other women's I think, which means they must get enough business to support both shops. They also have a free parking lot next to the building. I called for a 10am appointment. When I arrived there were 3 guys waiting ahead of me, but I only waited for about 10 minutes. There were 5 lady's working. It was a very nice experience. The lady's were pleasant, the price was right and I'll definitely go back.
Great professional ladies who do a great job and charge a low price for how well they do. Tip them well and appreciate what a deal you're still getting.
I have been going to A's for almost two years and today's experience made me question if I would return. The price for a haircut is $20 and a bit more if you want a "Style" type haircut. I was charged more than the advertised price of $20. The lady barber said my haircut was more expensive since to I am not a regular customer. Her definition for a regular customer was to get my hair cut at their place every 3 weeks. What a crock of BS. Never in my life (and I am turning 70 this year) have I experienced a business charging more based on a requirement of getting a haircut every 3 weeks. I know this is a popular barber shop but they should treat ALL of their customers better than I was treated today.
