All the workers and even climbing community here are so welcoming and they all keep the facility clean and stocked up on snacks, hydrating drinks, chalkbags and other sorts of gear! Def recommend to anyone whos interested in working out by boulderin, auto belay, or top rope but they also have a workout area upstairs as well! 10/10 would give this place more than 5 stars if I could.
Alright, time to get messy. TLDR; Boulder room to small, auto belay is very weird, but overall has the opportunity to be one of the best gyms ever This gym is 50 minutes away from where I typically go for vacation during holidays. I’m not holding that against the gym, just pointing out that maybe they should care about the feedback a bit more due to how (until 2026, where a YMCA closer will be made) far away some climbers can be from. With that said, I don’t hate this gym, but I also do? Yeah it’s weird. First, this gym doesn’t have hue o grades anymore, I hate that decision so much but it’s nothing to get worked up over, the problem is how it treats its bouldering community. The bouldering community (from MY experience) doesn’t really like rope climbing, and (from MY experience) the rope climbing community won’t refuse to go bouldering. Cool, so WHY THE HECK is the bouldering area so small?! This is just very counter-intuitive imo, but also: What are they gonna do? Tear down half the gym? I think that it would be better to not change much, maybe change a few rope parts to bouldering but overall I don’t see anything. I wanted to rate it a 3 so bad but I just can’t let myself do that. It’s barely fixable and I’m sure the rope climbers are happy, or at least half of them are.. Auto-belays in this gym have NO hard routes! I get this is to incentivize people to get a belay partner but I personally feel bad having someone pull rope for me, I feel like I’m forcing them every time. Lots of people just don’t have access to others for help. Anyways, I’m tired of writing. I know this review sounded very harsh for a 4, but I focused on just the negatives and all of them are very easy to get used to. Except for no hueco grades please bring those back please please please
I’m very disappointed with my experience at this location. I was planning to book my daughter’s birthday party here. The website said the party price was $295 for up to 20 kids, which sounded great. I first emailed them but didn’t get a reply, so I decided to drive there after work yesterday to talk in person (during rush-hour traffic with kids). We discussed everything, and they told me I could book online. I shared the date and number of kids, but they never mentioned that online booking has to be done at least two weeks in advance. When I found out later that day I couldn’t book online, I emailed again, and they told me to come back because they could do it manually. Next day I drove there again, only to be told that the $295 price is actually only for 10 kids, and for 19 kids it would be under $600. That information was never mentioned before when I was there I felt misled and very disappointed. The staff were polite and said sorry, but this was a big waste of time and energy for me. I really hope they improve their communication and I also wish the staff would pay more attention to one customer at a time — if they’re busy, they could politely ask to wait instead of doing two things at once. It would make everything more professional and less confusing.
What a fun experience. We went as a family having no experience climbing. We were met with several very friendly and knowledgeable staff members. Nick walked us through our entire trip. He was incredibly helpful! He guided us every step of the way. He even saw a bit of potential in our son and gave him some great tips and tricks. We will definitely be back!! Thanks to Nick and the rest of the team
This was the first time I went and I didn’t know what to expect. I was nervous at first but the experience to try rock climbing was fun after I got used to it. Leo was super friendly and easy to talk to when he was explaining the rules of the climb. Highly recommend for a fun activity to do on a date or hang out with friends.
