I like how the place was organized. I was able to find some new books and they were fairly priced. Staff was also friendly and welcoming.
Bluestocking Books is a fun and unique shop in Hillcrest. I even found a copy of one of the old Piers Anthony fantasy novels I grew up on. Those books helped push me toward becoming a thriller and romance author, along with my shelf of nonfiction polar and mountaineering titles. The staff here is super courteous and the prices are more than reasonable. It’s great having places like this in the city where people actually know the books, know the genres, and can point you in the right direction for whatever you’re hunting for.
Extremely friendly staff and reasonable prices. I felt very comfortable shopping in this little gem. When I went to pay, the woman at the register was complimentary and took an interest in the books I was purchasing -- mainly Medieval murder mysteries. (^_^) I'm from out of town and really appreciated my experience. As a book and bookstore lover, I was happy to patronize and support this bookstore. Highly recommend.
The bookstore offers a variety of second hand books at a really good price! I managed to find a book from my TBR for a very cheap price! I was also surprised that I could find a Malay book here
One of my favorite bookstores when I lived in San Diego a few years back. Got to revisit this past week and was happy to find it still open for business and thriving. They’ve even reorganized things and I like the new setup. Great to see small business bookstores doing so well. Found some great books to add to my collection of course. And already look forward to my next visit!
