I was impressed by this bookstore. It promotes literacy and caters for all ages. What I loved was its Spanish book section. Bookshops where I live don't stock many Spanish books, so it's difficult for me to find them. But this place made me so happy! I bought a Gabriel García Márquez book, and even though it was more expensive than buying it online, the fast service and quality of the book made it completely worth it.
This is a wonderful book shop, it raised my love for Santa Cruz a notch and illustrated the advantages of having a university in town. It made me very happy to get to look though such a great science, science fiction and computer sections. I bought a book I didn't know existed and saw many others that were quite pleasing to learn about. Good computer book sections are getting harder to find and I really liked them including some electronics books too. I kept thinking how big and well stocked the place is. It has some used books mixed in so students on tight budgets can find an affordable gem too. The fiction and kids sections are gigantic too and the store is friendly and well staffed. With a really nice display of banned books up front that I thought was informative and fun. I'll certainly go back here every time I'm in Santa Cruz from now on.
Such a magical shop with a great variety of books. I like how the store is organized, so much charm to this place. Staff were very helpful and sweet, they also have Calico Critters here!!!!
I've been a customer & fan of Bookshop for over 30 years. Our family makes a yearly trip here & now my grandchildren are enjoying it too. Love this store, the idea behind it, the people who staff it.
What a great bookshop that encourages literacy with new books and lots of gently read books too! The venue is relaxing and goes on and on with lots of books, relevant activities rather than just toys for kids. The event schedule includes kids activities and various book highlightings. Accessible entry with fairly accessible venue between book shelves and fun things to do. Accessible parking paid in street and garage
