I had a great experience at Boston Veterinary Clinic Brookline. The staff bent over backwards to ensure that my dog was relaxed during our visits. My dog had a few procedures done at another veterinary hospital, and we received a check in call from BVH after each one. It was expensive, but the service was worth it. I switched providers due to moving, but would recommend if you are looking for a vet.
As a first time pet owner, I really appreciated their wellness plan. Pet care is CRAZY expensive generally, so the fact that they have a wellness plan and accept insurance is great. Facility was clean and staff appeared to love their jobs and the animals. They offered personalized care and very responsive on the phone. They made my cat feel welcomed and happy. Thank you Dr Kate, Claire and all the team! I am looking forward to my next visit!
Dr. Grayson at the Brookline location of BVC was amazing! We came in for a suspected leg injury for our dog but weren’t sure where in the leg the injury was. He was immediately able to locate the injury and explained to us in detail the next steps. We had about fifty different questions and he answered each one with tons of detail. You can tell that he really cares about his job and knows his stuff. I felt in extremely safe and knowledgeable hands with Dr. Grayson and would strongly recommend him. Not to mention- he was able to establish a great relationship with our dog from the getgo-something that isn’t always the case with others vets our dog has seen.
First time ever writing a google review-- simply because the experience here is criminal. Side note-- Things felt off when immediately first thing the vet did was let me know she was using AI tools to record and monitor our visit- and paid far more attention to her phone than my dog throughout. I came in for my (very healthy) dogs regular vaccines-- they immediately suggested to not do vaccines, and instead do all sorts of testings, over $1,000 worth. They forcefully were pushing me, and I agreed to a blood test, and not the rest. The vet decided on her own accord to do some skin/bacterial testing as well. Even as I was checking out they tried adding medications (over $100) and shampoos that I didn't ask for and my dog didn't need- I passed. When checking out the vet implied I was cheap. When I got the bill, and saw they included a skin test, which I never asked them for, I emailed letting them know I didn't ask for it and requested a refund. Here's the kicker, after calling out their bad practice if misinforming people about costs, instead of making any basic attempt to apologize, they emailed me QUOTE "it sounds like BVC may not be the best fit for you and Gracie moving forward." No business should ever tell a client who shares feedback about a negative experience, that you are not their type of customer. This place steals from you and gives you the finger on the way out. Do not patronize.
Boston Veterinary Clinic is a huge improvement over our previous vet (VCA). The office was clean and welcoming, every staff member was friendly and helpful, and I had a chance to ask all of my questions. They made it very easy to get medical records for pet insurance. I really appreciate how much they do to make the clinic environment feel safe and relaxing for pets, and I was impressed that my cat was playful and calm the entire visit. Absolutely the best vet I've ever gone to, highly recommend!
