Yoko literally helped change my life as a dog owner! I came to Yoko after adopting a rescue dog. She was a 1.5 year old puppy. She was the sweetest at home, and we were incredibly patient, but just couldn’t manage her pulling and lunging behavior, despite reading, and other trainers. Then we decided to try out Yoko - she knew exactly the right method for my dog’s personality (complex, shy, timid, yet playful) and in a matter of weeks, walking our dog became much more enjoyable. We only wish we met her sooner. Thank you Yoko!!!
It’s been such a pleasure to be Yoko’s assistant and help her with her classes at Bow Wow academy! Working with someone who is committed to positive reinforcement training, understanding and connecting with every dog in class and helping every family who attends understand the value of positive reinforcement is such a rewarding experience. By demonstrating, practicing and explaining positive reinforcement I’ve watched so many families and their dog leave with a strong connection based on mutual trust and confidence to take into their every day lives and the future together. Bow Wow Academy in North Vancouver is a great dog training school. I have to say the training from Yoko was excellent and our family puppy learned beginner lessons and is well on her way to becoming a well behaved dog. I recommend.
Yoko & Stephanie have been incredible in helping shape Maple into such a well-mannered pup! Their knowledge, patience, and obvious love for dogs made every class something we genuinely looked forward to. Even though the puppy classes was only once a week, we left each class with so many useful tools, and we saw improvements at home thanks to their tips. We’ll definitely be back for the teenage classes, and we can’t recommend Bow Wow Academy enough!
Puppy Manners was an excellent course in how to be good parents to Obi. Yoko was so enthusiastic and helpful as she trained us in how to use positive reinforcement to help Obi grow in all the habits and manners a puppy needs to become a successful part of the family. She showed us how we needed to help him do that in a calm, structured and fun way. Highly recommended and we'll be back for the 'terrible' teens sessions (which hopefully won't be as terrible because we have been trained in good strategies to help Obi handle it!).
