My son loved the Lego Robotics class. At the end of the day, he would show me what he had created and it was all so cool. He enjoyed the week long class and we would consider signing him up again next summer!
Broken Written Promises and Unprofessional Staff Response. What happened: July 23 BrainVyne texted that our St. Stephens session was being moved to Palo Alto. When I said I would cancel, they wrote "we'd be able to offer extended care till 5:30 PM at no cost if it will help." I stayed enrolled based on that written offer. July 29 (Day 1): At 12:45 PM I confirmed the 5:30 PM pickup. Staff replied: "Pick-up for half-day caps at 1:30 PM. All parents are well aware there is no free childcare in the world." When I quoted their earlier message, they called it a "misunderstanding" and said they were already "more than generous." I had to arrange emergency childcare on Day 1 after organizing my work schedule around their written commitment. In my experience, when presented with their own text message, staff responded with lectures rather than solutions. Other recent reviews describe similar experiences with last-minute changes and dismissive customer service. Several public reviews (see Yelp) mention being offered incentives for five-star ratings. My recommendation: The LEGO activities themselves were adequate, but my experience suggests their commitments may not be reliable. If you choose to enroll, I'd recommend keeping screenshots of all communications and having backup childcare arranged in case policies change after payment.
My 12-year old attended the Money 101 learning financial fundamentals camp in Ohlone college. He seemed to enjoy it. He has known some concepts already but it is better to have someone explained to him in a systematic way. Hope it is a good investment on him :)
Our 7 year old daughter loved the girl power robotics camp. The instructors are awesome! It was an amazing mix of LEGO robotics, art and out door play! They learnt to make and program some pretty cool things with gears, coding and advanced robotics.
My 7-year-old attended the BrainVyne Lego Camp in spring break and while he seemed to enjoy it, I don't feel it was worth the money I paid. The camp's infrastructure was good, but the experience felt more like supervised playtime with Lego sets. I didn't see significant value in terms of new skills or knowledge gained, and the price point of around $250 per day seemed steep considering what was offered. If you're considering this camp for your child, you might want to weigh the costs and benefits carefully. ### Pros: - Good camp infrastructure ### Cons: - Not worth the high price point - Limited value in terms of new skills or knowledge gained Overall, the camp might be suitable for kids who just want to play with Legos, but parents looking for a more structured learning experience might want to explore other options.
