One of the earliest and oldest yacht clubs in the city of Ottawa. Situated just before the Deschênes Rapids on the Ottawa side of the Ottawa river.
My husband and I wanted to find something a bit more unique that matched our personality as a couple – and we couldn’t have found a more perfect place then the Britannia Yacht Club! Already filled with rustic charm, the Upper Deck room is a fantastic spot to pour your Pinterest dreams and make it a reality. You also can’t beat the Ottawa River as the background for your ceremony. The food was incredible and we got rave reviews specifically from our guests who have dietary restrictions saying they’ve never had such a delicious meal at any other wedding venue before! The bartenders were exceptional, I can’t believe the two ladies behind the bar were able to keep up with very thirsty guests! Then there’s Jessica – she isn’t just an event coordinator; she’s a problem-solving mastermind, a planning guru, a cheerleader and your wedding bestie! I can’t speak highly enough about what a dream it was to work with Jessica. She truly owns her craft and has so much love and passion for what she does.
We hosted our August 2025 wedding at the Britannia Yacht Club and were extremely happy with everything. It's a beautiful venue, and the in-house staff, from servers to chefs to bartenders, were all excellent. Jessica, in particular, is an A+, above-and-beyond-type coordinator who was very accommodating, helpful in the planning process, and oversaw a very smooth operation day-of. Our guests loved the food and ambience and had lots of great things to say about the venue overall.
In an industry plagued with long waiting times and absurd hidden fees and regulations, let BYC be your breath of fresh air. From the first venue walk through, the vibe is laid back and the staff all have a “can do” attitude. We were blown away by the organization and quick responses by the staff and we were touched by how much the team truly wanted for us to have the best possible day. Special shout out to Jessica Degrasse who was made to do this job and was a lifesaver for us time and time again. She works with all your vendors to ensure the day goes seamlessly and you can just enjoy the party. BYC was able to accommodate our band, 1000 speeches and an outdoor cocktail hour. They were able to accommodate our picky dietary restrictions and our full capacity guest list without a hitch. Highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married in Ottawa.
We had our wedding at Britannia Yacht Club and cannot recommend this venue enough to future couples. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible, and the communication leading up to the day was always open, clear, and reassuring. Jess and Paul were absolutely amazing to work with! Jess in particular went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and without a single hiccup. She is truly the best coordinator anyone could ask for. And then, of course, there’s the view. With the sailboats drifting in the background and the sparkling water as the backdrop, it’s simply breathtaking, nothing else can compare. Our day was perfect, and if we could do it all over again at Britannia Yacht Club, we would in a heartbeat.
