The show was great, the atmosphere is nice. There is no leg space, seating is cramped. I have bad knees and it was torture sitting in those seats. There's maybe three or four inches of space in front of the seat. The bathroom is all the way in the basement so go before the show or during an intermission because it might take a minute to get back. Drinks were strong, got a jack and coke and could taste the jack. We had an issue with Stub Hub but the manager was really nice and accommodating. Parking wasn't too far from the venue. It's a tight squeeze in the mezzanine but other than that it's a nice place, can feel the history.
Music was a fantastic experience. While the acoustics weren’t perfect, the overall time was blast. It might have just been my seating in the end anyways. I really do recommend this place as It hosts a ton of great picks for performances you might want to see, truly love coming over here from time to time, even with the long drive.
First time there was taking in the Beatles review 1964. Good show and the venue was perfect not sold out, oh well. Seats were a little cramped, glad I'm not 6 feet. Looking forward to the next show.
The theatre needs to perform better sound checks. I was up in the Mezzanine and the volume was way too loud. On the verge of being unenjoyable. And this was for Boney James - a smooth jazz artist… snack options were slim, you have to go down flights of stairs to find a restroom, and the bartender was unaware of the complimentary beverages that come with the Crown Club seats. Staff was freindly and helpful.Theatre had nice architecture.
This is a nice, cozy venue! There really isn't a bad seat in these old theaters, but they are cozy. Tall guys be warned, there isn't much leg room. There were plenty of drink stations, so waiting for a drink wasn't a big issue. The theater is easy to get in and out of in terms of parking. I used the Market Street garage and just walked two blocks to the theater. The Houston Street garage can be a bit crowded to get in and out of. It's not a problem if you leave early enough for your show. It was my first time in the Empire Theater, but I'd definitely go back again to see another show.
