I took my first Barre class 8/30, and today I’m already at 25 classes! As someone who has tried several different workouts and boot camps, I really enjoy the workouts! I have taken classes with several instructors and they are all amazing and provide hands on correction when needed which is appreciated. The space is welcoming and CLEAN. Would highly recommend.
I first went to a few classes at City Barre with work friends a couple of years ago. I remember thinking how hard the classes were but how nice the instructors were and how fun they made the workouts. Fast forward three or so years, I am a few months post-knee surgery and pregnant with my second child. I needed a workout that was low impact with high intensity—et voila! City Barre was the perfect choice. I adore the owner, Gretchen, and I genuinely feel so much more confident and in shape than I have before, even more so than I did when I was training for the Richmond half marathon last year. The instructors are excellent, the studio is absolutely gorgeous, classes are filled with smiling people who know they’re about to get their asses kicked. I absolutely LOVE City Barre and I can’t say enough good things. I look forward to being a part of this community for a long time coming!

Great location, great music, great atmosphere, great workout. What more can you ask for? I’ve been going to City Barre for over a year and still feel great about heading in for a workout. With the recent addition of their Hi-Lo classes it adds even more variety to your workout routine (but be prepared, it IS a legit workout!).
**Update: I have been a member for 6 months now and I am still loving City Barre! I go several times a week, and the classes are never boring. In addition to regular barre classes, there is now a new class style that pushes me to work even harder. Barre has been a great complement workout to my running - I am so much stronger than I was months ago!** City Barre is the best! I love how each class pushes me to improve while still feeling enjoyable. The instructors are kind and encouraging, which creates a supportive atmosphere. Plus, the studio itself is beautiful. Highly recommend!
