Clever is a great way to save money by paying 1.5% to the selling agent. They have a wide variety of very professional real estate agents. We had an opportunity to interview a few agents to make our selection based on our specific criteria. Given that the 2025 real estate market was very sluggish we still sold our house with the help of our agent Faisal Kakar within 3 months. We started the new year with a huge relief by selling our house. Thank you Clever and Faisal!
I contacted Clever specifically because of their advertised 1.5% listing model. One of my only requests upfront was to communicate by email only, not by phone, due to my work schedule. Despite this, every agent who reached out immediately started calling, and only followed up by email afterward. Instead of clearly answering questions about pricing structure and scope of services, the communication focused on scheduling calls and providing unsolicited pricing opinions. It became clear that Clever operates primarily as a referral platform, connecting sellers to traditional commission-based agents, rather than offering a transparent, seller-centric alternative to standard listings. This may work for those simply looking to be matched with a Realtor, but expectations should be managed if you’re responding specifically to the 1.5% messaging.
From the time that my wife and I made the decision to move from NC to Indiana, up until the time we closed 6 months later, our realtor, Ellisha Mayers, was absolutely Top Notch!
