Went here at the last minute with a few friends. Pleasantly surprised. The drinks menu was detailed and prices were fair. The food was absolutely incredible. I had the gumbo soup which was seasoned just right and the risotto. The risotto was delicious, creamy and just the right amount. I highly recommend the experience.
After many recommendations from generational New Orleans families, we chose this restaurant expecting a proper New Orleans dining experience. We had an 8:15 PM reservation for six people and were genuinely excited for the evening. What followed was not just disappointing—it was unacceptable for a restaurant that commands premium pricing. From the moment we sat down, the service felt rushed and transactional. Our server did not introduce herself, explain the menu, mention specials, or ask about water preferences. After ordering cocktails and appetizers, we were asked if that was all we planned to eat—an odd and unsettling question. When I asked if the restaurant was closing, I was told no. We made it clear we intended to enjoy a full dining experience, including entrées and dessert. Despite this, once our entrées arrived, the check was abruptly dropped on the table while we were still eating. No dessert menus were offered. No to-go boxes were mentioned. We still had half a bottle of wine remaining. Shortly thereafter, the lights were turned on—an unmistakable signal that we were no longer welcome. When I asked the host if the restaurant was closing, I was told they close at 8:30 PM. This raises a serious concern: why would a restaurant accept an 8:15 PM reservation for a party of six if guests are going to be rushed out minutes later? This is New Orleans. A proper dinner—especially at a restaurant of this caliber—takes time. We ultimately had to pour our remaining wine into plastic to-go cups and leave. That is not a fine dining experience under any circumstance. We spent over $350 on this meal, and at that price point, basic hospitality, professionalism, and respect for the guest should be non-negotiable. What makes this especially unfortunate is that the food and cocktails were excellent, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Sadly, the service undermined everything. I hope this experience is not reflective of management or the restaurant’s standards as a whole, but based on this visit, we will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others. For a city known worldwide for its hospitality, this was deeply disappointing. What a shame.
We dropped in for dinner tonight. We ordered drinks and dinner. The dates are delicious. The risotto was good and the mush rooms were a great texture. The bananas foster bread pudding was really a nice (very sweet) way to finish the meal. The corn and crab bisque was not good. It was flavorless: not sweet like corn, not tasty like crab. It was simply not good to put in my mouth. And honestly, I'm done wasting calories on mediocre food. Initially I rated this place two stars because they still charged me for the bisque I did t eat. HOWEVER, when it was pointed out that we did not eat that because it was not good and that it seemed crappy that it was still on the bill, they took it off. And, a second person came to ask our opinion about it and seemed to actually care about us in our experience. We told them how yummy all the rest of the food was, and this is wind up being a good experience. If I am being honest I would've given it five stars if they had just simply taken that stupid soup off the bill without adding it on and making us jump through the hoops. It is a little weird that the very first menu item on the dessert menu is a room in their hotel.....
We had an amazing experience at Copper Vine from start to finish. The atmosphere was stunning, the food was absolutely outstanding, and the drinks were crafted to perfection. A huge shout-out to our waiter, Ty, who truly made the night exceptional. His service was very timely and very patient with us, and his recommendations were spot-on — every dish and drink he suggested was a hit. You can tell he genuinely knows the menu and cares about making sure guests have the best possible experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the cocktails were balanced and delicious — easily some of the best we’ve had in a while. Everything came out perfectly timed and exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for incredible food, great drinks, and top-tier service, Copper Vine is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back — and asking for Ty again!
Pretty restaurant with a nice bar area and two separate eating areas. Lovely outdoor seating also. Food was very good. Oysters and pork belly appetizer was delicious. Oysters were fried to perfection with a great crunch. Pork belly was tender and sticky in a good way. Pub cheese was okay probably wouldn’t order again, was a little bland. Duck confit was very good, tender and tasty and the beans served with it were also very flavorful. Short rib pasta another hit. Pasta had a chew and short was tender and juicy, an all around great dish if you like short ribs. Bread pudding was absolutely amazing. Very sweet but full of flavor and large enough to share. Beignets were a little disappointing. They looked amazing when served but were definitely oily. We had an 8:30 reservation and they close at 9 so we were there late but were still disappointed when we were told we couldn’t order an espresso because the machine had already been cleaned for the night. Overall really enjoyed this restaurant and would return.
