Great place to climb 🧗 Staff are really friendly. I felt sorry for them though as it was very cold 🥶 inside.
This is quite a money-minded establishment. We’ve been coming climbing with our 3-year-old daughter for many months during the play sessions. Today, we had booked for the afternoon session but couldn’t make it, so we thought of checking if she could join the morning one instead. Since our daughter gets very excited when she sees the climbing centre, we parked far away so she wouldn’t see it, and my husband went in alone to ask if a swap was possible. He was told that she couldn’t participate in the session but could still come in and play. There was no mention that this meant she could only play in the adult area — which obviously isn’t suitable for a toddler. Based on that information, we decided to go in, thinking it was fine as she usually doesn’t participate much in the instructor-led session anyway. But once we entered, we were told she could only play in the adult area. Naturally, she couldn’t manage there and got upset, crying and wanting to leave — exactly what we were trying to avoid by checking first. Advice to management: Please be clear and transparent with your customers. If toddlers aren’t allowed to use the play area during certain sessions, make that very clear upfront. Don’t sell or allow bookings for toddlers when they can’t actually play safely. I understand that rules are needed, but this felt more about making money than caring about your customers — especially disappointing when it involves small children.
We really like the friendly, respectful vibe here, of the staff and climbers alike. We take our son who is autistic and they’re very sen friendly, including a quiet session on Saturday evenings. Carers go free. Thanks Betty and Rachel for your help.
This was an amazing venue to go climbing at, where me and my friend were checked in promptly at the reception desk. The walls have a strong variety, including diagonal, curved and high vertical ones. Holes prove suitable for gaging difficulty levels; I moved on the blue ones after the earlier holes and found the skills had come for these!
It's a great workout, but it's starting to look and feel a little tired. Many of the holds are worn or have a layer of rubber from being used as foot holds for years. I personally really like the place, but (anecdotally) I've brought people who are fairly new to climbing here and they have generally preferred other walls we've visited. There's a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly. However the place can get incredibly busy during peak times.
