Not that you can trust the professionalism of any vendor these days, but you need to be particularly diligent when it comes to Discount Tire. Your tires are literally what connect your car to the road, there isn't anything on your car that needs more consideration than your tires. That starts with tire pressure. It's fundamental. The factory recommended tire pressure for your car is on the drivers door jam. It's usually a really easy to read sticker. XX PSI in the front, XX PSI in the back. Now you might want to tweak those PSI's a little to accommodate any number of factors, but the recommended PSI is the place to start. On my 1998 Tacoma the recommended PSI front and rear is 26 psi. Having dealt with enough tire shops, I always check my tire pressure any time someone other than me messes with my tires. I brought the truck in with 28 PSI, because that provides the best quality of ride and tire contact patch for my truck. So what do you think the tire pressure was when I was told my truck was ready to drive home, at 80 mph on the highway, for over 30 minutes? 26 PSI? Not even close. 32 PSI, because that's a common pressure, nope. The truth is I have no idea. The gauge I use maxes out at 50 PSI, and the tires, all 4 of them, were inflated to more than 50 PSI! Can you imagine how dangerous that would have been drive down the highway? It would been like driving on ice skates, to say nothing of the potential of a blow out. So here's the lesson, don't trust Discount Tire to accurately inflate your tires, check yourself. Use the PSI on the drivers side door jam as your reference point. Oh, and check your spare too.
I had a disappointing experience at this location. When I came in, Curt was very rude and walked away from me in the middle of our conversation after I said I had another question. He went outside and started talking with someone else instead of helping me. It made me feel dismissed and unwelcome. I hope management addresses this, because customers deserve better service. also got told it would be atleast 5 hours for them to even look at my tire mind you one tire.
Adrian C. was a great sales men. He made me feel heard and made sure I got the tire that suits my vehicle. I appreciate his help and drive to get me the perfect tire. I recommend him going forward. He explained the breakdown of my payment, nothing any other salesmen has ever done for me. I recommend him going forward he assured me that he doesn’t work off commission and trying to get me my best fit. He made sure I understood where my money was going to and I appreciate that. He assured me I had coverage so if I had an accident it’d be covered. Adrian C is a great sales men and I appreciate his time. He didn’t rush me and took his time explaining every service to me.
When I say very poor customer service, I don’t mean to suggest they are rude. They simply don’t have customer service skills. If they would acknowledge waiting customers when they walk in, it would be a huge benefit to them. I understand that you can’t always help everyone immediately, but a simple “be right with you” would change the experience drastically. The actual service is a bigger problem. Poor communication and a lack of leadership were clear when you could hear techs shouting obscenities loudly all the way into the waiting room. Three trips for one tire and still having issues. Other than all the time I wasted, my biggest complaint is the lack of care they showed my wheels. This rim is practically brand new, and they scratched it in every lug hole on the wheel. This will cause the coating to chip, flake, and peel, and allow brake dust to become impossible to remove. Also, I hate the way they just peel off the old weights (which they themselves attached) and leave the adhesive stuck on my wheel. It looks terrible. Another terrible thing is the tire pressure sensor they installed. It’s a completely different color and looks awful compared to the OEM ones on the rest of my wheels. Just a complete lack of care about how anything looks or functions.
Great service the guy who helped me was great he got the tires I was looking for in less then 10h from another dealer
