Best Jiu-Jitsu gym in the country. Facilities are phenomenal, coaching is world class whilst still being inviting and supportive for all levels. If you’re in Melbourne and wanting to train jitz, Dominance is the best place to do so
I can't recommend Dominance highly enough. Both my kids are there and the kids' program is outstanding. Great positive atmosphere and highly experienced coaches. The community around the club is fantastic, my kids really feel at home there. The facilities are new and clean, and the place is run like a well-oiled machine.
Joining this gym has been the best decision I’ve made around Jiujitsu so far. They have an incredible staff, great training partners (both competitors and non-competitors), and most of all, knowledgeable coaches who take the time to answer your questions, troubleshoot challenges, and help you build your game. They also have a strong female team, which is a huge plus if that’s something you’re looking for in a gym. I highly recommend
We have been part of the dominance community for a couple of years now mainly for the kids classes. It’s pretty sensational tbh and it’s always been a family focused Gym the entire time I’ve been there literally and figuratively. The adult classes have a family/community feel to them, the kids classes have a nice consistent coaching crew who bond well with the kids, the head coach and his family are ever present and the head coach takes the youngest kids class ( 4 and up ) which to me speaks volumes on his dedication and ethos on jiujitsu but wait, it gets better, they do a parent and kids classes on a Saturday morning so you actually get to train and have some fun with your kid on the mats!!! We looked at other gyms around the area and there was an underlying rule that kids couldn’t take part until 8/9 years old I guess because they couldn’t concentrate but I’ve always thought the dominance crew got a really nice balance between using the fun to teach the kids and the hard line concentration stuff as and when required. I’m late 40’s and have never felt anything but welcomed at the adult classes and yes, it can be tough going but that’s the point. I can’t recommend the place enough.
