Just had the most pleasant bike buying experience at Electric Bike Central! I came in to look at a Specialized Turbo Levo for my wife (at a great price) and instead of the “too cool for school” hipster bike bro behind the counter, it was Matt, and he was great. Don’t want to repeat what all the other reviewers have said, but all the 5 star reviews are spot on.
If you're in San Diego, this bike shop is the place for anything you need Ebike related. Matt and his team are truly amazing. From the way they work on bikes to their attention and attitude towards customers. I've had 3 situations already where I thought I was stuck with an unrepairable electric bike, refused service from most shops or just couldn't find a skilled enough person to fix the issues. All those bikes were saved, repaired and being ridden to this day thanks to Matt and his team.
Five stars? More like five gears—because Electric Bike Central is shifting customer service into overdrive! A buddy of mine first introduced me to Electric Bike Central after raving about his epic (literally, a Specialized Epic MTB) buying experience. So naturally, when I was on the hunt for my Turbo Levo SL Pro, I rolled into the shop and met Matt. Now, fate can be cruel—Specialized was already sold out of my dream size and color. So, I begrudgingly bought from B***k Mtn Bicycles instead. And let’s just say… their customer service had less energy than a dead e-bike battery. But hey, I still loved my Turbo Levo SL! In fact, I loved it so much that I decided I needed a non-electric sibling for it—an analog Stumpjumper 15 Comp. This time, I went straight back to Matt, and wow—talk about a smooth ride! Matt and his team (shoutout to Tommy!) made the entire process effortless. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Why would you buy an analog MTB from an electric bike shop?” Answer: Because Matt and his team actually care. Plus, they gave me a great deal. I was a high-maintenance buyer—I wanted my carbon handlebars swapped, my Enve carbon wheels mounted, and basically a full bike makeover. Matt worked magic to make it happen, though my hubs weren’t compatible (ugh, bike problems). But instead of upselling me on unnecessary parts, Matt was completely honest about what I actually needed. Refreshing, right? When I picked up my brand-new ride, Matt made sure every detail was perfect before I rolled out. Top-tier service, honest advice, and a team that truly goes above and beyond? Yeah, I’m recommending Electric Bike Central to anyone looking for a Specialized bike—e-bike or analog. Trust me, these guys will get you dialed in!
Great rental rates and service as well as e-bike shop with top brands! So I glad I made the time to check out EBC when I was trying to buy my first ebike. Matt was friendly, helped me narrow down my options and the rental ride was fun—it made my choice a bit tougher to be honest. Good selection of models on the show floor and attentive all along the way from the research phase, to purchase, to after purchase support. Excited to buy another bike in the near future again with Matt and his team!
