Had a great experience taking an intro hip hop class with Ryan. His classes were lighthearted, well-paced, and educational and his obvious passion and enthusiasm for dance made the classes very enjoyable. The location was a bit out of the way and it would have been nice to have a mirror for practice but these are very minor complaints that didn't detract from the overall experience. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get into and explore hip hop dancing.
We used Elite Dance to help us with our first dance in preparation for our wedding. Jim went above and beyond for every part of our dance lessons. We selected the silver package (I believe it was called that). We don't have any dance ability lol so choosing this package helped us to get 8 practice sessions in. Jim was able to get us in shape for our first dance. The facility is nice but can get hot in the warm summer days. Thank you Jim!
We paid for the 8 class package with Jim Deglau to get ready for our wedding! Jim was fantastic to work with - positive, understanding that we were beginners, and his schedule was very flexible for scheduling classes on evenings and weekends! He loved to crack jokes which put us at ease. He’s very good at what he does and it shows! He helped us choreograph a routine to hit big moments in our song, and helped us practice to ensure we could look good dancing! It was the talk of our wedding! Not to mention, it was under half the price other studios in Edmonton quoted us. We had an amazing time - this was a fun date night activity leading up to our wedding, and we will be going back for other dance classes with Elite!
My husband and I took dance lessons at Elite in preparation for our wedding! We chose our song and worked with our instructor, Jim, to plan a beautiful and simple choreography. He was very flexible and communicative from first lesson to final preparation! As this was our first experience with dance lessons together, Jim offered his expertise and was patient with our awkwardness while listening to our needs and wants. Within 5 lessons we were feeling confident for the big day and had little to no need for extra practise - even with spins and a lift! We are looking forward to returning to Elite for future date nights and highly recommend them for couple’s choreography.
Updated review - Our daughter has been dancing at Elite for almost 9 years. She started in the Kids Beginner Latin & Ballroom. She progressed into the Competitive program and we've loved watching her skills grow through group classes, technique classes and private lessons. Her coach, Dominic, has taught her solid technique so that she has the skill and confidence she needs to move up through the competitive levels. Elite will often bring in dance coaches to help fine tune skills. We highly recommend Elite Dance Studio if you're looking for Ballroom & Latin dance lessons for you or your child!
