First off, I had an amazing shopping experience with the wonderful ladies at this shop. Thank you so much, Patricia and Carlota! These ladies were incredibly warm and helpful and gave me many tips and tricks for my new bags. They also shared personal stories of how well these bags hold up and that I needn't worry at all when I return to Colorado, USA (weather is highly variable). 2nd off, I have been looking for YEARS for a unique, higher-end hand bag, without logos all over it, that also lined up with my ethics. Tissa Fontaneda hit ALL of the marks. As above, I am visiting from the states and was lucky enough to just walk by this shop on my way to a cafe. I liked what I saw in the window so I googled the brand while I was eating. I was pleasantly surprised to find a woman owned company that believes in sustainable and humane leather (is only using leather from animals already being (humanely) killed for meat, rather than being killed for their hides). The description of the brand also really resonated with me in that she believes in making bags of high quality that speak for themselves rather than being covered with logos. I initially bought a larger bag and loved it so much I went back for a shoulder bag to use while walking around London. I also got a few accessories. Prices obviously change with economy but at the time of this review my shoulder bag was a little over $900 and the larger bag was around $2400 (USD ~0.90 cents per pound at this time). At least in the states this would be on par with say a Louis V. bag only much more unique (IMHO). Super happy with my purchases and I will be a loyal customer for life :).
We had first seen Tissa’s beautiful work in Madrid and were excited to have her open her new store in London. Her Marlybone boutique is fantastic and a great addition to top shops in London!
