Scratch kitchen from the owners of Heritage Cafe who bring the same quality ingredients and attention to detail. Lots of gluten free options and celiac safe. All of the tacos were fresh and flavorful and I love the poblano rice. We will definitely be back!

Have been here several times now. At Southlands most restaurants don’t make it. Fortunately this place is under a great owner (John) and great employees like Daniel. The food here is fresh. …when I say fresh-it’s like their meat is never frozen. They probably sell so much of it, there is no need for freezing. Always had a good time at the Cantina and the sister restaurant Heritage Cafe. AURORA needed a great new Mexican place locally to Southlands. Thanks John and team for another great experience!

Daniel was our server and was fantastic . Kids meals were excellent. Tacos were massive and very good. Drinks we good. Wife had a specialty drink and was fantastic. Love that they avoid bad oils amd use natural fats. Gives the food fantastic flavor. Will definitely visit again! Thank you!

We really try to support local restaurants but we had such a bad experience tonight that I can't imagine we will go back. Our seating position provided us a view of the guy unboxing the chips, touching the bottom of the boxes (which were on the floor) with his gloves and then using those same gloves to serve chips to patrons. We did let our server know who had him change his gloves. Unfortunately for us, there was also someone taking pictures of the staff and food with a full DSLR and flash (at 530PM) repeatedly blinding us if we looked up from the table. The camera was finally put away and we got our food. As soon as we picked up our corn tortilla tacos all contents immediately left the chat. Unimpressed. Our server asked for our feedback and we were direct about our experiences, no manager just the check, shuffling us out as quickly as possible. We are regular people, not expecting perfection but this experience had absolutely no redeeming qualities.

If you’re looking for a family owned restaurant in Southlands with great Mexican food and tacos this is the spot! Great happy hour with $6 tacos and $10 margaritas. The Quesabirria and chicken fried chicken tacos had great flavor, and the poblano rice and elote were excellent sides. Our server Shannon was fantastic. So friendly, and great service even though she said she was new! Plus a dog friendly patio! Definitely will return in the future.
