I was staying in the GoldCoast for three nights, and we went to this coffee joint each day because it was SO good! This was some of the best coffee I’ve had, it was anffordable, and the service was fabulous. The girl with blonde hair remembered my order the third time we came in (which was our last day sadly), which impressed me because remembering coffee orders is not easy! Thank you to the team for making our time in GC so much better!
I’ve really enjoyed the coffee and croissants here—I actually came back three days in a row! However, I had a disappointing experience today that I felt I should share. While I was ordering, the cashier asked for my name. I gave her my short name, 'Nour,' and even spelled it out slowly for her multiple times. Despite this, she ended up just scribbling a 'scratch' on the cup. When my order was ready, the other staff member couldn't read it, and they both ended up laughing about it before just calling out the drink names instead. Honestly, it felt quite dismissive. I understand that some names are unfamiliar, but I took the time to spell out a simple four-letter name clearly. It’s a shame because the coffee is great, but the service today makes me not want to return.
ESPL. COFFEE is the vibe checkpoint of Surfers Paradise. This is my first stop every morning. Before the beach, before the run, before anything. Good tunes on, ocean in front of you, sun coming through the Soul Boardwalk and a strong coffee in hand. It is exactly the frequency I look for in a day. I sit here with my iced long black, laptop open, watching the waves and people heading to the surf. The music is always on point, not too loud, just enough to lift your energy. Staff are genuine, friendly and remember faces. It feels like a little community hub right on the Esplanade. If you love good coffee, good tunes, and that beachside flow where you can chill, work, or catch up after a run or swim, make this your base. Out of all the spots around KFC and Subway and the rest, this is the one that actually has soul. 5 stars. If you are in Surfers Paradise and want real coastal coffee culture, start your day at ESPL. COFFEE.
What a sad excuse for a toastie! One slice of inferior ham, no cheese. They have use good quality sourdough bread, yet have heated/toasted in an oven thing which made it so hard to bite into. Not good at all. And to top it off it cost $15! Just not good enough. So sad there’s not a good cafe in Surfers that can serve up a descent toastie ☹️
The ladies at ESPL always make us feel welcome, they’re awesome! The coffee and food options are amazing, the service is excellent, and you can’t beat the view right in front of the beach. Definitely a spot I’d recommend.
