Ray and his crew did a beautiful front yard for us. It exceeded our expectations. From the help with the design, to the plants, irrigation and rock, the work was exemplary and always on time. Highly recommend this landscaping company!
Very positive experience working with the entire team at Excel Landscape for our front yard remodel. The project kicked off quickly and we were constantly updated on progress and what to expect next. Truly a one stop shop as they handled demo, concrete, masonry, light electrical, irrigation, and finally planting. Ray was helpful in bringing over samples when we needed to finalize design elements and talking through alternatives and issues that popped up. We now have a beautiful front yard and are very pleased with the finished product.
We decided to replace our old weedy, grass front lawn with a “rock-scape”. We provided Ray, the owner of Excel Landscape, a very detailed design to work from. The new dry-scape includes a small paver patio area, a flagstone path, several large boulders, new "mow" strips, and addition of decorative rock. Plus provision for irrigation of new plants included in the design. In addition to the lawn conversion, clean-up was done in surrounding plant beds (weeding and removal of old bark only). So a project with many components, requiring multiple areas of expertise. After an extended delay due to weather, the crew moved quickly to complete each stage of the project. It was clear they had a definite plan to make sure the right materials and the right crew were available. The patio, the path, and the mow-strips came out beautiful. Everything done with a lot of care but efficiently as well. Ray was able to secure all the materials that I had specified, and all were installed correctly. In the process, our project foreman, Octavio, volunteered suggestions for improvement, which I appreciated and adopted. It really felt like a collaborative effort on-site. Ray was always our primary contact, and he worked closely with us on scheduling and communicating closely with his foreman. He is very client-oriented. I almost canʻt believe that Excel was able to transform my rough but detailed 8” X 11” sketch into a rock-scape exactly as I imagined it, but only better than I imagined it. My husband and I are very happy with it (and donʻt miss the old lawn at all!) We were also happy with the timeframe in which the project was completed.
A terrific team to work with! From design advice to installation, Ray and his team were very courteous, professional, and efficient. Ensuring our drainage throughout the backyard was managed, Ray advised what should be done as we had our pool redesigned. The pool company only looked at the footprint of the work they were doing. Ray was responsive and clear in his advice to ensure the whole backyard was taken into account. The landscaping team worked to complete flower beds, grass for the front, reused bricks for new pathways and river rock to complete the look. They were always on task; answering any questions or providing adjustments as the plan unfolded. Our completed project has been exactly what we wanted, with expertise from the team to make sure we understood what else was needed to be thought about.
UPDATE June 2020: We had Excel Landscape redo our backyard and it looks fantastic! They worked very quickly and we couldn't be happier with how it looks! We got the river rocks laid down, a bunch of old stuff removed, and new plants/trees planted. Take a look at the pictures, it's awesome. If you want some landscaping done, call Ray at Excel Landscape! I called on a Saturday about a broken sprinkler system valve and Ray called me back that day, even though they were closed! We got an appointment with Michael for Monday and he did a great job. He was quick, it looks nice, and the cost was very reasonable. Michael explained a lot of the process, which I was personally interested in. And he gave me a ton of information and options for doing a new or upgraded sprinkler system in the future. I was really impressed and satisfied with Ray and Michael, and will be doing more business with them. You should check them out! Oh and by the way, they offer A LOT of different services.
