I like this place a lot because they are very nice, helpful, & efficient. I had them change batteries of my watches and I also had some jewelries fixed & polished before. They always do an excellent job. I highly recommend this shop in Brea Mall.💙
Fast fix fam is my favorite after being in jewelry for some time theres one thing I learned. Never let just anyone work on your jewelry. The jewelers here are genuinely the best! Staff is amazing and friendly as well :). I will never allow anyone else to work on my jewelry unless it’s the jewelers here. They set my tanzanite and created a whole new piece for me! Love them for all their help.
Fast reliable service in a convenient location. We were able to have two pieces repaired in under an hour; we weren’t even done shopping around the mall when I got the text that my jewelry was ready for pick up. I appreciate the extra effort to bring my custom engagement ring back to sparkling new condition!! Thank you Erin and team for being so passionate about what you do. We will be back soon!
1 star. I chose Fast-Fix Jewelry & Watch Repairs (Brea Mall) because of the high rating, but this ended up being the worst ring-resizing experience I’ve had. About a year ago I met with the owner, Anais, and we discussed sizing. For my top-heavy gargoyle sterling silver ring with a thin band, I usually wear a thicker ring in 10.5, and I asked whether I should go 10.25 or 10 for this one. Anais recommended I try 10.25 first. I did. After wearing it for a full year (including colder months), it was still clearly too loose, the heavy head would flop and swing side-to-side on my finger. That’s why I came back: to downsize it 0.25 from 10.25 to 10. When I arrived, the jeweler initially told me he couldn’t make it smaller because it “wouldn’t go over the knuckle.” Communication was difficult because he did not understand English well, which is a problem when you’re working on someone’s jewelry. If a jeweler can’t communicate clearly in English, customers should be offered the option to use a translator on a phone so the jeweler can hear the requirements directly and nothing gets lost. I was then sent to the front, where they used a sizer and confirmed that size 10 DOES fit over my finger and knuckle. So the original objection didn’t make sense, and I should have taken that as a warning sign. Overall, it felt like the people handling my ring didn’t want to do the job the way I was carefully asking for, and that lack of consideration showed in the workmanship. I was told the labor warranty is only 3 months, so the resize wouldn’t be free. I didn’t come in asking for a discount, I care about quality, not price, but Anthony called Anais to ask about pricing and then told me it would be discounted anyway. I was quoted $80 and charged $85 (not the point, the point is the work). While waiting, I heard aggressive grinding, and then the ring came back looking like it had been pressed hard against a grinder. The band was scuffed around the circumference and, more importantly, the shank was worked unevenly. When I saw the condition it came back in, I told him, “Please be careful, this is a $2,000 ring,” and he replied, “Really?” Even after polishing the surface myself, the real issue remains: you can feel the uneven thickness/warp when you run your thumb around it, there’s a noticeable transition where one area is thicker and another is thinner. One side of the band is now thinner from front to back, consistent with material being removed unevenly. Heat/torch marks on sterling silver can typically be addressed with standard cleaning and polishing methods (for example a pickle bath and proper buffing/polishing) without aggressively grinding away metal, but that’s not what happened here. I was told the jeweler has “25 years experience,” but the uneven thinning/warp and aggressive metal removal did not reflect that level of craftsmanship. When the jeweler brought it back to test the fit, it was initially a little too tight, and instead of simply adjusting professionally, I was repeatedly told things like, “you should have left it the way it was.” That’s the opposite of listening to the customer. I waited a year to be sure; I came in for a precise resize; I wasn’t there to be argued with about why I wanted it. They also told me there would be no warranty on the resizing. Again: I wasn’t focused on warranty or discounts because they were fitting it to my finger, I was focused on careful workmanship. The name “Fast-Fix” should have tipped me off; this experience felt like “fast” mattered more than “fix.” I even told Anthony to his face that this was the worst resizing experience I’ve had, and the response was basically “sorry to hear that” and walking away. Yes, the ring fits now, but the process left me with a ring that feels warped/uneven, and I’ll likely need another jeweler to correct the band and restore the finish. If you care about precision work on meaningful jewelry, I can’t recommend this shop.
I can't think of a watch and jewelry service store I visit nearly as often. People are fun, helpful and knowledgeable. From watch batteries and resizing to repair to jewelry design and build, I always have a reason to go there and I've never been disappointed.
